Has anyone ever seen a Steiner certified "Official League Ball"???  Here is the link:

Not only is this a pathetic attempt at a Jeter signature, it is made worse with the "Steiner" sticker on an unofficial ball.

Thanks, will do! On a bright side, this forum was a nice find.

Sent an email to the Premier Sports Collectibles. Got a quick response:

" In this industry every one has an opinion and judgement.  Our belief has always been unless you see the athlete sign it in front of you,  you will never be sure. As for the people who claim to be experts I can show them a hundred different jeter autographs and they would never agree. EBay in General is controlled by a few different dealers and they constantly are trying to bad mouth others products and claim they are the only ones selling authentic items. What amazes me is jeter is exclusive with Steiner but yet others have different coas up there for him.   We know for a fact he only has Steiner coas ever since he started.   With the Coa you have from Steiner that is your guarantee but that's why we stand by our return policy for complete satisfaction. Fell free to return the item and we will issue the credit immediately"

Issued a return number and given a return address (which by the way is now in Connecticut?

Should I be concerned about sending the items back first? I know it's normal for standard returns but it feels like I'm sending away the only evidence I have of fraud.

Dan, ship it back with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance.  I hope you didn't spent a ton of money for it.

I'd spend the extra $2 for SIGNATURE confirmation.

I'd get an email from Steiner saying it's a bogus cert and send that back with them. It's literally a childish amateur forgery, anyone who has looked at Jeter sigs for 5 minutes would be skeptical buying that.

Dan i am sorry to hear you got ripped off. I can tell you the same exact ball at one point was listed on ebay with no steiner sticker and was removed several times. The reason I remember this particular ball you may ask? Well it was so poor and the seller was so persistent (kept relisting it until banned)  I knew I would see it again, and just how bad it is overall burnt a memory in my head.

I just assumed on ebay again. Not with a steiner hologram and card.

That's one of the ugliest Derek Jeter forgeries I have ever seen and I've seen them all.

I also see their "office" listed on their letterhead is for sale according to this website.

This is no question a childish Jeter forgery.

As I have written on my blog a few times, Steiner holograms are appearing on bad items with more frequency.

Are Steiner holograms compromised?

Interesting read. I wondered about these myself before especially since they don't have specific numbers with matching certificates. Given how expensive Steiner memorabilia is, the last thing anyone should have to worry about is their authenticity!

Great idea (Signature Confirmation), Mr. Zipper.
