Maybe I'm in the minority here but, with a signature of this value, why wouldn't the seller have it authenticated? Seems that would be extra money in the bank.
I have a lot of reasons I dont get stuff certed, but one of the bigger ones has to do with the cost of shipping and insuring high end collectibles, not to mention the stress and anxiety of trusting the carrier to not lose or destroy it. If I was local to one of the majors, maybe…
We ship a lot out for our home business. Mostly 1st class with tracking now, sometimes priority. Back when we were using stamps, our rate of lost packages was 1.2%. Since we started using tracking, its down to about .5%. Even though these numbers seem low, dealing with the post office the last 2 years has taught me a lot. There is no way I would ship any of my signed items.. its too risky
We live in a rural area now. (Numbers have not changed coming from the Chicago area), but we do live 90 miles away from St Louis and I am considering running to the next cheap convention where jsa or psa will set up. I have about 10 items id love to get certified. Not sure if you are in an area where its an option but keep an eye out for conventions to save on shipping costs
That would be a great idea if the signature was authentic. However, it would cost about $300 and I seriously doubt that it would pass authentication.
Yes and yes to the initial questions. And I agree this won't pass. Much to close to the second example, and very hesitant.
Yes, I agree that it’s hesitant as well.
It does appear odd. I'd have to agree with Ballroom - and pass.
This might be a stupid question but...I thought his poetry book was self-published? So, it wouldn't say "Simon and Schuster" on the bottom, would it?
It was published in 1970 by Simon and Schuster.
He self-published “The Lords: Notes On Vision” and “The New Creatures.” This book combines the two minus a few pages.
I agree it's not authentic.
