This amazing Neil Armstrong signed photograph sold at the recent RR Auction Space Auction for $56,301 (including buyer's premium). WOW!!

It's a 16x20 photo of Buzz Aldrin on the surface of the moon, signed in white artist’s grease pencil, “Neil Armstrong, Tranquility Base.”

In my experience, I have never seen an Armstrong signed photo inscribed "Tranquility Base." It could be a one-of-a-kind item.

Very cool :)

Wow, just read a biography on Neil. What a guy. Amazing providence alright, rare to get a picture of the man himself holding the pic!

beautiful; - but do we know if it was a serious offer and that the buyer actually  has  the intention of paying for it ? thats more money than most people earn in a year .  Also it has to be money up front and not on a ccarrd  if you buy with r and r now.  It does seem an unbelievable amount of money to spend.

I would assume buyers who exceed a certain dollar amount are verified by RR Auction. It's not like eBay where any joker can sign up under a fake name and mess with people's auctions.

And bear in mind, it took TWO bidders to get it to that level.

Did you see this one mr z?

Yes. I reviewed this at some point in the past.
Its on ebay if anyone wants it.
Is that a photo from the shuttle or plane?
The ship appears to be the recovery ship that picked up the astronauts upon splashdown. I suspect the aerial shot of the ship was taken from a recovery helicopter.

Nice signatures, but the photo itself is small... Not an 8x10.
The old school photos.
That's one small autograph for the seller, one giant price tag for the buyer!
Talk about making my own Neil Armstrong looking pale in comparison! ;-)
