Wow, that BBC piece is sobering.

I just acquired a real dream piece for me inscribed and signed by Tennessee Williams that came from Germany.  It's one of a kind and shows the "naughty side" of Williams given what he wrote and who he wrote it to.

Shipping was to me in the States via DHL handoff to US Postal Service.  It arrived last Saturday.

The dealer I purchased it from sent out an email membership update today that shipments to the US are suspended going forward for the time being.

My timing is usually not that good.

Congratulations on the Tennessee Williams piece.  Sounds intriguing.

Yeah, the suspension of some international deliveries is insane in the modern world.  Strange times we live in.

I buy a lot of high-end music memorabilia from the United States.  As mentioned earlier, I do have a workaround in place, but at the same time I don’t want to be a burden to my contact over there.  Plus, sometimes I’m a big kid and I just want my purchases ASAP.  I may have to start being smarter about that.

Thanks for the congrats.  Williams spent so much time overseas that a lot of prime artifacts from him are still scattered amongst sellers over there.

First world problems. Jeez.

This is an autograph collecting site, not FB. NO harassing other members on Autograph Live. Harassing members here is cause for being wished into the cornfield.

People voted for the candidate they thought was best for our country, just like you did.

Haha, I already live in the cornfields though... Great post and I agree. Society (social media) dictates that the norm is to be against eachother.. but why? Can't we all just get along? Where's the beef? Haha some nostalgia there but seriously.. I have no beef... Can't afford any these days.

Damn this sucks. Stupid tariffs.

Tracks has issued a statement that will hit you Beatles collectors where it hurts:

Thanks for showing that as well.  Politics aside, like the BBC article, stark and sobering.

What's with all this surprise and shock - I posted a warning about this last week!

I am no Trump apologist but the suspension of mail services into the US is entirely down to U.S. Customs who have had months to prepare an infrastructure for the payment of these tariffs, and establish procedures for classifying mail and they have done neither. This is why the mail has stopped.

I thought the Executive Order stopping the de minimus rule (no duties for packages under $800) was only issued several weeks ago. The big bill got rid of it by 2027, but I thought he issued this after that, kind of out of nowhere, and said everyone had three weeks to figure it out.

"Vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and other recorded media should be exempt from any tariffs under US presidential executive order.

The executive order going into effect on August 29, 2025, removes a long-standing “de minimis” tariff exemption for most goods valued under USD $800. However, this change does not apply to “informational materials” like music media, which are still exempt from tariffs under US law 50 USC 1702(b)(3).

Simply put, music and informational media have always been exempt from tariffs and continue to be so at this time. This means neither sellers nor collectors on Discogs should be charged additional customs fees."
