Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not.  I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples.   These TTM signatures are not cheap.  You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box.  The question is are they real or not.  Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.

Please post your thoughts here and examples.

thanks

Agree and for all our sake I hope the ones that were sent out turn out to be real.  What bugs me though is not that the in-person ones look different, but the ones that were offered years ago on his website look different from the recent TTMs.  Also the ones I sent to Judith in 2010 (million $ quartet & Fats photos) looks different from the recent TTM.  They both looked more like the older autographs I was used to seeing.  But again, would they really want to charge money and send out fakes?  Maybe his older signing style has changed to what we are seeing now.  And lets not forget those in store cd inserts which also looks like the recent TTMs. Would they hold an event and hand out fakes?  That would be very off the charts.  Its all very perplexing, but like you say we should know more in a few weeks.  Thanks again!

I guess anything is possible, but seems pretty unlikely his signature has gotten significantly neater in old age and suddenly he likes adding inscriptions like "The KIller" and a flourish under his signature.

One thing you will have to be careful of Chad, is what the "proof" will be. To me, only a clear video of the signing would satisfy me. B/c if they have all been fake, that stands to be a pretty big scandal, at least as big as a scandal as he would want at his age. And alot of people would demand there money back.

Therefore, it wouldnt seem far fetched to me if you got the standard TTM signature everyone has been getting, and then Jerry posing with your freshly signed picture, and that be given to you as a photo proof. The item could still easily be signed by the ghost signer, and Jerry just holding it up like he just signed it. That way, it would outwardlly appear like all the previous TTMs are all real and it would put an end to the questions. But this is just me thinking out loud.

I hope you do get a genuine autograph, but i would trust nothing less than a video of the signing up close and HD. I know thats not owed to a fan, but after all the controversy, at this point, thats all i would believe.  A still photograph posing with a supposed autograph would not be enough to sway me in this instance. Good luck

There is a video where you can see JLL receiving an visitor from Austria (Andreas Gabalier, folk'n roller) who desires to have a cd signed. You can see it at time 1:48/1:49.

Here's the link:

Altho you cant see a close-up of it, it is a very good example of how he signs IP that shows the consistency of my IP autographs.  Quick, no flourish and the 3 names sort of bunched together.  Thanks.  We needed something like this on the thread.

I attempted a screen grab but it looks bad. This was the only thing I could get.  I agree with Steve Viola this signature was quick, nothing fancy. It does not look bunched to me though. I know I'll probably get a tomato thrown at me for this but when I paused the video a bunch of times in small increments the signature reminded me of the book signatures. The straight lines on the bottom of the "J" and "y" are the two characteristics I could see.

EDIT- After looking at the post the image looks even worse than I thought it would. I could see with some clarity the signature formation when watching the video on full screen and pausing the video.

The ONLY thing I got from the video was he dots his "I" lewis at the end of the signature.  And NO there is not way to compare that to the book signatures..  Sorry Chad…  that is a HUGE stretch.

Here are three snapshots from the youtube video above. It’s difficult to gain a useful enlargement for our needs, but it is a slight approach (at least worth a try).

I am going to  reach out to the guy in the youtube video and ask him for a high res photo of the autograph cd.  Will let you know what he says.. Looks like he is pretty big star.. you never know til you ask

Mark Roberts, I planned to do the same thing. I hope they send it to you.

As an update, the letter I wrote to Judith a little while back got a response today. In my letter, I summarized what we have all been discussing on this site. She responded "Jerry is 78 years old. His signature different all time!" And later again says "Jerry signs all." I would think if she was knowingly selling fakes she could have easily ignored my letter. Instead she responded and declares many times he signs them all. Many of us have experience with frauds terms on eBay or elsewhere. Generally, when they get caught or called out, they disappear or at least go silent.
Once again, I'm not trying to convince anyone on here if anything. I am just sharing my experience and opinions.

Good job on getting a response Chad!  How did she sign her name?  Did she sign Lewis??
