Steve, this threat was not posted to discredit Bob or his values as a seller. He is doing the right thing. But Bob is really upset that a third party is questioning his third parties authentication. Again, no one here is saying Bob is doing anything wrong, he is all bent out of shape on this one.
This site has contentiously pointed pointed out the mistake of authenticators, PSA, JSA, and even our own Roger Epperson on rare occasions and will continue to do so and the second the community does care anymore to bother we all might as well throw in the towel.
wait a second ........a few weeks ago I asked Roger if he ever sold a bad item before and was crucified on this forum, you are coming right out and stating that his authentication is incorrect ........ am I wrong ? Why such the double standards here ?
The other point I want to make is if there is an autograph you really want, study it and be patient about purchasing it.
There's a good chance that sometime in the future you will be able to buy that autograph(s) at a great price.
Rogers coa,s when he does them for RR auction are usually linked to the auction and include a description ,the lot number and the auction date/description so some sellers if trying to get a much higher price dont use them as they immediately alert the potential buyer to the initial purchase price which can be offputting if your thinking of spending a lot of cash on your dream autograph
i believe this is possibly the reason why Rogers coa wasnt used in the listing and a second coa obtained
nothing fishy, not a crime just business
You said exactly what didn't dare...
i dont agree with Steve to me this isnt a good guy that we need more of and i think there is a place on the site for discussion,it also opens up the question of should members here disclose if they are dealers /e bay autograph sellers as some discussions clearly have hidden agendas ,i hate this kind of speculative selling most auction house wins now go to dealers there are four or five big e bay sellers doing it with stupid prices that real collectors wont pay ,half of the recent sales are dealer to dealer its just pushing up prices for fans,at some point the circle has to break as they all have to really sell something eventually
however when it all boils down the items are likely genuine and they come from reliable sources , the guy shouldnt be knocked for that, which i suppose is the main concern
