I'm sorry but in my opinion that photo is not authentic. It's not even close to thier signatures

Hi I recently bought an autographed 8x10 picture of the Greatful Dead from a charity auction. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think its worth. Thanks

This site was not set up to be a "bashing" fest like other BS sites are. Your "gavel" site is just a rip off of another idot run site. Please next time you or any of these stupid online sites want to investigate anything, get your facts straight first. If anyone wants to challange my ability or knowledge please let them come forward and not hide behind some site that is operated out of another country to hide it's writer. I don't hide when i write. This is why I'm the professional and these so called writers are the idoits. And by the way "Aaron" the word is "choose" sides not "choice" sides.

I only know about one genuine Ray Charles autograph and that belong to Owe Hahn, the artist booker for Swedens biggest amusement park. He got Ray to sign a picture to him in the 50s or 60s. There is a copy of the autograph in Owes biography. I will try to find a link so I can show you all.

Ray Charles was a ok signer. I got to meet him a few yrs ago and he was signing stuff for the people ahead of me and when i got to meet him he signed a photo that I had, i had to tell him where on the photo and placed his had on it and he scribbled away. He was a great guy to meet, and we all left happy, having meet a legend...

Once at the Grammy awards, 1992ish, I asked several industry people who were in the Ray Charles camp, and all 3 of them said that Ray Charles does not sign autographs. Nothing I have ever heard has changed that opinion, thus, I never have pursued him for that purpose( would like to meet him though).

I don't know if anyone read the story or not...but here it is and I apologise for the bad spelling and grammar.

Well it goes back to 1963. Pat, the lady i work with had a pen pal from England and this pen pal was raving about this new group that was "fab". Pat saw the picture she sent and kind of laughed at the hair and the basic look of this group. Did not think much of it until....1964! Beatlemania arrived. Pat was a teenager who would babysit for extra money on weekends only.

One afternoon, one of her clients called and said there was an emergency and that he and his wife had to meet some individuals from "who knows where" and if Pat could watch the kids for the night. Pat had homework and it was a school night but figured she could use the extra money anyway. Since she could not get a ticket to that week's big event. She figured others did and the babysitting market would be wide open. She arrives at the house. By the way the man ran a hotel in Milwaukee that was later bought up by marquette University for housing. Anyway, pat arrives and the couple are dressed real fancy and getting everything in order. Pat is a bit intrigued by this and says something to the effect, "Wow it must be someone really important to get all dressed up for. Is it Hank Aaron or Warren Spahn?"

"No," was the answer. "It is a group of young gentlemen...I think from England."

This is the time that any words referring to "group", "gentlemen" and "England" had to refer to "you know who" plus they were in the area for a concert.

"Was it a group from Liverpool, England?"

"Yeah they call themselves the Bugs or flies or some insects....."

"THE BEATLES?!!!?!!!" Pat screamed.

"Yeah, you heard of them?"

Anyway Pat pleaded with the father to get them to sign something for her. He was like sure whatever. Then they left. She doesn't even remember what she did that rest of the night as she was thinking of John, George, Paul and Ringo constantly.

When they couple arrived back home in the early morning hours, they found Pat asleep on the couch. They woke her up and paid her for the night and also gave her a postcard signed by all four. That was they prize possession she showed me, 45 years later. It was in pretty good shape excpet that she had used one side for a straight edge and it has a red line on the edge. Other then that a great story and a great collectible!
