Thanks in advance for any help.

My votes, for what they're worth:

  • Top: I'd be shocked if this wasn't genuine.
  • Bottom: I think this is genuine, circa 1970.

Let's see if I get any right.

I was partial to them but I am not really experienced with Elvis.

Steve, that's why you are not an expert just a good student.  The bottom one is without question not authentic.  The top one might be ok or it might a clone of a real one.  I have seen this one before and believe I have seen it a few times but it could be a clone.  There is a newly discovered (and I mean newly) Elvis forger that is absolutely unreal.  I'm not at my office and won't be until Monday but I would stay away from it if you were thinking about buying it.  The more I look at it the more it looks like a revised Hans Bakker forgery.  Note the "P's", both have that Hans box shaped "P" almost no "s" in Presley and no "e" in the "ey".  These are typical Bakker traits.

Roger, Is this Bakker guy from Europe?

These are being offered to me from Europe.

So Rog, you're saying I shouldn't give up my day job?

I don't think either are authentic. I've seen the top one offered on eBay and felt like it was questionable so I had it checked out by PSA and they came back saying that it was not authentic, I really have to agree with them considering the number of things questionable about it which are different in known authentic exemplars. The bottom isn't even close. You've already heard from Roger Epperson, aka a real professional authenticator.

Thanks for all the help guys, I won't be buying these two.

Richard,

Yes, he is from outside of Amsterdam but a lot of them go through people he knows in the UK and Germany.  I actually flew to Amsterdam years ago when I was suspicious of his many handwritten items and wanted to look at his factory errr, house and see where all this stuff was coming from.  It was unbelievable what I saw there.  I even took a picture in his house with 3 Elvis (all fake) signed guitars that he was selling.

Steve, you have a day job?

the second one is definitely NOT authentic, in fact, its not even a good forgery. The top one certainly has some favorable attributes, but I wouldn't buy it.
