Jodie Foster was never the best with autograph seekers. And, because of her personal life (rumors that she's a lesbian, adopted kids), she's not into stopping for the paparazzi either. And who could blame her?
Well, the Taxi Driver star looked more like DeNiro's character, when she went off on a teenager. She was leaving The Grove shopping centre in L.A., and the young photographer followed her all around snapping pictures. Foster snapped back, but not with a camera. She got in his face and was screaming at him.
The boy's father said his son merely approached Foster asking to take her photo. Foster's rep has issued his own statements, about the elaborate camera and bag he was carrying. I'm siding with her. I think stars know the difference between the paps, and the fans, and the people that are suddenly star struck by a celeb, and pull out their cell phones for a quick photo.

Of course, all this makes it harder when we want to have a picture signed.

It is to bad a teenager was treated this way but perhaps the father was behind this? But Ms. Foster has a right to her privacy.

It's a tricky thing, Robert. Most people think celebs are entitled to their privacy. But, can you really blame some dude in Iowa, out in LA on vacation, that sees a famous person in a restaurant? You'd like to think they STILL wouldn't approach for an autograph while they're eating with their family, but they do.

There's a way you can wait until the celeb is leaving, and nicely approach.

It is very tricky indeed. Sometimes even when I have had just one item, I still get called a dealer or other comments. Public places I feel are "fair game", but as Josh points out still must have its level of respect such as when they are at a resturant, ....................and I'll add with their kids.

I have always thought that if you ask in a polite way, and they say no in a polite way, then no means no and ya gotta move on. It sucks, especially for the dude from Iowa, but thats life in the big city
