Is anyone going (or has gone) to Roger Waters Us and Them Tour and gotten autographs? If so, any tips?

I may go to one of the Chicago shows at the United Center, or the St Paul show. Any idea where to look for him or what times? Is it better to check the venue or hotel?

Thanks for any help!

Hello, everyone. I see lots of people here got their items signed by Roger. The next week Roger will come to St. Petersburg & Moscow. So I really hope to get some items signed. And here are 3 questions:

1. Does he sign nowadays? Cause there were some messages here earlier that he stopped signing.

2. Is it possible to get your items signed on 2 days? For example - on August 28 and then August 29? Or his security guy has a great memory, just like Ian Anderson? Cause I know that Roger signs only 1 item, but I really hope to get signed 2-3 records, I won't sell 'em on Ebay, I just want to present one as a gift to my dad.

3. Which record is more interesting for signing - "The Wall" or "Relics"? Cause "The Wall" is classic and looks wonderful signed, but I've seen signed "Relics" so few times.

Hello, I wrote this out for another member and it is not "current" but from late last year when US & THEM was still stateside but some data will still be relevant. I hope it helps - good luck!

Look to be there about 3:45 pm for an 8 pm show.

Look to the rear of the venue for a crew/equipment entrance/ramp/tunnel whatever and a corresponding line of fellow folks holding LP's and such.

Get on this line.

Bring only an LP, program, ticket or CD/DVD to be sure to get a signature.

Obviously, one per person.

If Roger stops in front of this line to sign, he will be sitting in the back of a black Tahoe, often on the passenger side, and there will be a handler (in this case to your right) as you approach the car.

You hand your item to the handler as the fan in front of you is getting his item handed back to him by Roger.

Your item is then handed to Roger by the handler; Roger might not even look at you as he signs - he hands it to you and you move away quickly (to your left if done as I saw).

Remember, the paint pen must dry! Takes several minutes.

Choose your item very carefully (not to glossy and not too flat) and something with potential for contrast

He often uses a DecoColor pen in silver, black and sometimes gold from what I can see.

Something very slick and you might not get a lot of ink.

Modern LP’s have a very flat finish and cause his pen to drag and not put down a lot of ink as well.

I would suggest an older LP, a CD booklet,…ticket…an older flat perhaps.

I find his current LP offers less than great contrast with all those horizontal lines.

I selected a 2015 Wall DVD (his new film) - I only collect recent signatures on recent albums so my choices were very limited. It also contains perhaps my favorite song - "Nobody Home". I also had the North American Tour 2017 flat, but that is large and it was raining! I chose something small and got away with it - no rain drops to speak of. I also chose this DVD because he said, I believe, that he will not sign photos of himself anymore. I don't know if that is true, but this cover has his face on it so... ;)

I took an older DVD and cut a window in the front plastic – in this I placed the cover from the DVD for signing.

About a week later, I placed the signed cover in the original sleeve again – with a slip of Mylar between the paint pen and the plastic DVD sleeve as paint pen can stick.

The result:

Thank you!

1. He does. Usually leaves hotel at 16.00.

2. I believe now he signs on show days only, leaving for the venue. Alternatively roll down at the venue.

3. The Wall or Dark Side are both classic LPs but I agree, there are so many of them signed! Get the one you are most comfortable with and which would look the best framed! Good luck! :)

Thank you so much! So it seems that if I will be lucky - there is a chance to get only 2 albums signed (cause there are 2 concerts in Russia the next week). He doesn't sign anything after the show?

Not likely he will sign after the show. Bring a friend to handle the 2nd album for you!

Most of my friends working those days :) I'll try to sign one in St. Pete (UK 1st "Saucrful") and one in Moscow (UK 2nd "Dark Side").

Good Luck!!!

Thank you so much! Hope Roger will be in good mood those days. ANd also hope to catch Nick Mason on September 2 in Stockholm to add his signs.

Got him in Cologne in June, at he venue in his car.
He was in very good mood, smiled with everyone, he thanked or said "ok" to everyone who thanked him.
He signed this one that day, exactly 3:50 pm.

But you have to be there about an hour before!
In Cologne he arrived in a underground car park, the street and concrete pillars was marked with yellow and red arrows to guide the driver...

"Only" one item per person, but I would try it again next day in your position!
Good luck, let us know!

PS: I try get Mason and Pratt in Luxembourg in september too, a very small club...looking forward to it!

Wow, what a beauty! Nice item!

Thanks! I wish you good luck with Nick too!

Nice signed piece, Andreas! Congratulations.
