This set is currently at auction in the UK. What do folks make of it?

It comes with a letter from Christie's confirming that the autographs sold in one of their auctions circa 2008 - as we know this certainly doesn't ensure the authenticity of the autographs.

A couple of things don't look quite right to me, but I'm very interested to hear others thoughts.

Looks to be in the hand of road manager Neil Aspinall

To me, it's definitely not an Aspinall set. The McCartney concerns me the most, especially the 'rtn' section which appears atypical. The fact that it's written in another pen also suggest it was added at different time to the others. Additionally, the 'e' in Lennon almost appears to have been added after the the signature was completed.

It's definitely not real IMO. I think Christie's will back it up, at least to the original owner.

Very unreal. To quote Pink Floyd's Us and Them, it is too "short sharp & shock"

E

These are all 100% authentic, absolutely no issue with any of the signatures.

Authentic...IMO

Genuine, Beatles inscription by George.

It's a tough one - despite what I said about the Lennon, my gut tells me he, George and Ringo are okay. It's just the Macca I'm not sold on .....

Yeah, this is a strange set. I was wrong saying they were all bad. I think they’re all good, but adding the E to Lennon bothered me and Paul has spots too. Jumped the gun on this.

Thanks Steve - the consensus seems to be moving towards these being genuine.

It looks like an authentic set to me too.

Including commission, it sold for just over £4,000
