Atw are a fantastic band. Their keyboardist really sets them apart from other bands but he goes out in the wilderness and is in and out of the band because they cant find him.
Nice placement and contrast for such a cover design.
I always said I was saving this autograph for last in my collection. My ultimate white whale... Grail item... Was to own an autograph from John Lennon. While I will never be finished in this hobby, there is now a level of completeness and honestly am in awe holding these in my hand....
John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Kyoko Ono 1969 Scotland Autographs
Two pieces of lined paper that has been signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Kyoko Ono in blue ballpoint pen.
The autographs were obtained by a nurse at the Lawson Memorial Hospital, Golspie, Sutherland Scotland during the first week of July 1969. The family had been admitted to the hospital for treatment after John Lennon had crashed his Austin Maxi car into a ditch in the Scottish Highlands as they were heading to Lennon’s aunt’s home in Durness to take a holiday. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident. Julian received treatment for shock and was the first to leave the hospital, he was taken to Durness to stay with John’s aunt until he was collected by his mother, Cynthia Lennon. John, Yoko and Kyoko all received facial stitches and remained in the hospital for 5 days. Upon being discharged from hospital John quipped to reporters, ‘If you’re going to have a car crash, try and arrange for it to happen in the highlands. The hospital was just great’.
The autographs come with a letter from the niece of the recipient that reads ‘John, Yoko and Kyoko were holidaying in Durness in the North West of Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland where John had relatives. On their way home they unfortunately had a car accident and were taken to the nearest hospital which was the Lawson Memorial Hospital in Golspie in East Sutherland. My aunt was a nurse in this hospital and got the signatures for me’. Each piece of paper measures 11cm x 8.25cm (4.25 inches x 3.25 inches)
