well he will be known for being a cranky old man at 80. he should learn a thing or two from tony bennett . he’s a class act!!

Macca is a class act. I have been lucky enough to see him over many years in person since the mid 80's. He is incredible with fans, chatty, and historically has always been a great signer. I've seen this first hand. And if he does not sign, he is still polite and is happy to talk.  And that is what he is saying himself- he's happy to give his time to people in the street and have an 'interaction' and talk even if not signing. To the fan, this is much more valuable.

it’s his choice. i just have more respect for willing signers for the fans because it’s an honor when someone asks you for an autograph. it should be taken that way no matter where it goes .

I lived in London during 1977. I was standing at an intersection waiting to cross the road and Paul pulled up driving a green Rolls Royce. Linda was with him. The driver side window was down and after initially being dumb struck I said hello Paul I am a life long fan of The Beatles, you are my idol etc. He smiled , thanked me reached out of the car and shook my hand. The traffic moved on and he drove away. No chance of an autograph. I collected these later. But I can tell people I have personally met him. Great memory.

I have seen the abusers first hand, not with musicians but with political candidates.  It is disgusting to see the same dealers and hustlers elbow their way to the front and leave the fans/supporters in the dust.

I wish McCartney would sell things online. That would give people like me a chance to get something.

I suspect that his new policy won't actually affect very many fans as most will never get near him. It's not like he signs TTM.

One thing is for sure - no amount of McCartney autographs will ever be enough.  He knows that, so he probably decided to just call it quits.

I don't really have interest in contemporary material but it always leaves me a bit uneasy when I read item descriptions on autograph websites and the dealers mention their in-person "sources" in L.A., N.Y.C., etc.. Sounds like the same language a drug dealer might use. 

I know the autograph hobby is fueled by "buy, sell and trade" and we all participate in that.  It just seems weird to me when the origin of an autograph was a hustler posing as a fan to make a buck.

I don't blame celebrities today for just saying no...at any age.

who cares if you have more money than GOD! enjoy your life and let others make a little too. greedy people who can never spend what they have in a lifetime worrying about the common folks trying to make a living. the time the celebrity spends seeing it on ebay they could sign an autograph lol
