I think this looks legit and probably late 1940’s, but appreciate any thoughts!  Thanks in advance!

PS - The true/original signing angle has been "lost" (discarded unknowingly) by the trimmer.

PSS - The quality of the scan precludes my rendering an opinion on the age of the board used to attach this to.

180 us dollars/169 gdp seems awful cheap for a sinatra too but maybe you got an amazing deal

that is an amazing price. Does the seller not know the value of the prices for Sinatra?

That low price might be a significant piece to this puzzle.  Are you o.k. with sharing the source on this, Patrick?  Auction or straight buy?  What their other offerings look like?  Not to be intrusive, but that info. may help a lot in looking at this one.

The piece came from a seller who had cut up a large book of autographs, most from the 1940’s and 1950’s.  Almost all had a small photo of the actor/actress attached to it like this one.  Many of which were British actors/entertainers/royals that I am not familiar with, however Sinatra was in that book.  It had been for sale for only a few minutes when I purchased it.  In my opinion, I think the price reflects a seller who didn’t do their homework, more than anything else.  In any case, I will post more photos of it soon!

Patrick - I actually found this piece online before I saw your response.  All I can say is that the items being offered by the seller are interesting.  I'm a fan of the old BULLDOG DRUMMOND series and the seller's John Howard is not correct, in my humble opinion (see attached).  It's presented the same way as your Frank.  Not sure why someone might take time to do John Howard who is inexpensive...but there you are.  They also have a Marlon Brando that I don't believe is his signature.

Still, time will tell once you have it in hand.

some of the sigs  that the seller is offering dont look good to me and they are all far too cheap. but lets see what happens with yours once it arrives

Not a judgement, just some observations....

I see a watermark in the background, so presumably this was a much larger sheet.  John Howard must have signed a much larger blank sheet which was cut down in such a way as to allow for the placement of the photo.

I am not familiar with this actor but that signature looks awfully deliberately written.

The John Howard is very much deliberately written. It just looks off.

I did see not all this - eBay? Yes, indeed, agree.  I have not seen more that was has been shown here since last night. Thanks.

Edited to add the first "not".

Here is one I own. It is also from the 40s I believe. I would say it is much closer to the PSA example Etienne posted on the first page of this thread than the OP example.
