The only way is to flood both indigo and publisher with emails about not wanting autopen copies.

This is really concerning . Buying 500$ a book that is machine signed. What a ripoff

I saw a post by a guy on FB, showing authenticated examples of celebrity autographs which were exactly the same. So it must have been some kind of autopen which doesn't leave any dots, fooling even the 3rd party authenticators. You wouldn't know these were fake until you saw 2 of the same autographs next to eachother.

So by notifying the publisher of the obvious autopen signs, we're also making them aware to buy better machines next time (and what to look for).

Just contacted indigo about the autopen concern saying if this proves to be autopen I am going to dispute the transaction and if they know beforehand to cancel my order.

It was too good to be true. Too bad Dylan doesnt give a damn about his fans

I have e mailed Both Indigo and the Publishers Simon and Schuster

Can everybody else do the same - Links are below.

thanks emailed publisher too.

I think we shall contact the publisher's HQs (NYC?) as the Canadian branch might not be heavily envolved in this.

My theory - other outlets like B&N, BAM etc. were supposed to get those signed copies as well, but maybe did their homework and found the books not to be legitimate - therefore there was just Indigo listing so far. Price tag in both CAD and USD suggests the release has been intended for the US market as well... Unless they drop randomly at selected independent bookstores etc. on the release date. The sooner this goes viral and reaches the media etc., the better - as only wider publicity accusing Mr. Dylan's team and his publisher of fraud can help the case here.

LMFAO !!! THAT'S perfect  Mike74 !

Wow! I just watched the video posted by Jason H (nice detective work here btw Jason).

For sure it looks like Bob Dylan $uccumbed to the greed and ease of the autopen!

Just like Dolly Parton, Wayne Gretzky, Ozzy & Sharon,,Chevy Chase, Jack Nicholson, Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Pratt, and on, and on

I'm so sorry for the members on here that bought, INDIGO at least are good for returns.

Personally, I'm glad I stood down on this, and wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole now no matter what, as it's far too tainted a piece now IMHO...

Don't worry though, INDIGO will refund, just like they did with Wayne Gretzky: (previous article below)

"A large quantity of “autographed” copies of ’99 Stories of the Game’ sold through Indigo Books and Music were actually autopenned.  Indigo realized the mistake after customers familiar with Gretzky’s autograph contacted them to complain.  They’re now offering refunds for those books.

“We have ordered thousands of author signed books in the past and have never had an issue. But in this case, unfortunately, we unknowingly received auto-penned versions instead of the promised autographed books,” Janet Eger, vice president of public relations for Indigo Books and Music, told Global News."

So will Indigo refund when mine arrives in the UK with an expected delivery date of 27th December - as it's being sent surface mail.... yes a $800 item being sent surface to the UK....

I’m pretty sure that when an international seller sells to the uk they have to follow uk law. I’m not an expert on this but I think we can request a refund for any reason 14 days after delivery of an item

Indigo accepts returns within 30 days. The problem with the 14-day "for any reason" law and the return policy is that you have to pay return shipping.

If you can prove the product is faulty/ not sold as advertised then shipping should be on them. However you still lose out on the import costs, those will not be refunded by the retailer if you did not pay them UK VAT directly.
