On the back of a bunch of really useful threads, especially the autopen artists, I thought it'd be nice to have in one place a list of poor signatures, lazy autographs or even dots (yes, you Lady Gaga). Please only write down the artist name and if it is a plain letter, ghost signed or just very lazy sig.

What exactly does cursive have to do with anyone's IQ, and where are the stats regarding the decline you speak of?
They force fed us cursive decades ago and it was pretty much worthless by the end of the 90s. I'd stopped using it sometime in junior high I believe.
I might have been wondering the same. I stopped cursive decades ago. I still sign my name. I don't print it on a check or receipt. But it kinda doesn't really matter much as it once did. But who writes out long letters anymore ? Most cursive is illegible anyway. Only making a point about my two albums. If Bucket puts his normal X or paw print or whatever, it is all good. Signatures just have a nicer flair. But well expected, growing up in a chicken coop !
I always felt cursive done well is a much more artistic, right brain type of written communication. Think 'Declaration of Independence' style, beautiful in form and function. As for the 20 year trend of dropping test scores and IQ across the US, there's a few thousand articles discussing it. I'm glad you're happier without using cursive though, some people just don't like using it. I was much faster putting my thoughts down using cursive so I used it throughout school. Everyone is different.
Sorry if I came off as confrontational there, so apologies for that. On the topic of signatures/cursive, I will agree that I still sign my name with more or less the same variation of what I've been using since I was a kid. Even younger generations seem to still largely sign their name, even if cursive is a long dead part of the curriculum.
This is from a poster I have from Tate McRae signed a few months back, and that seems to be cursive(ish). And Tate was born in 2003.
Very nice signature and apologies if I offended you, it definitely wasn't my intention.
I admittedly probably took more exception to the comment than I even should have - I'm not even in that age demographic.
On the cursive topic: For kicks, I took a look at the stuff I got signed at concerts over the past year,. More of the inscriptions to me (not just the signatures) were actually cursive. And most of the artists tend to be in their early 20s. Stephen Sanchez, Rosie Darling, Suki Waterhouse, Chappell Roan, Maeta, Ama Lou, Charlotte Cardin, Paris Paloma and Emei all wrote me messages in cursive. All of those artists I believe are Gen Z (with the exception of Suki). A few more (Dylan, Maggie Lindemann, Jessie Murph, etc) wrote with a "hybrid" style cursive/printing. Now I'm wondering where they pick it up or if it is still being taught in some circles.
Not the signer, but the way it was presented. One of the worst presentations on any non-sports trading card I've ever seen.
2022 Topps Allen & Ginter CHRIS FARLEY AUTO 1/1 Cut Signature A...
Look how they massacred my boy.
CHRIS MARTIN COLDPLAY...on the upcoming CD, I guess we'll have to wait and "C" !!!
Off with their heads!!
Seth Rogen. Awful signature on his book. Just a big letter S.
As opposed to Steve O who has a sig that looks like a drawing of a wang.
