On one hand, this was $135. On the other, this is probably the only time I'll find signed Pacino at a thrift store.

Lucky find.

Pound for Pound Great Naoya “Monster” Inoue. Signed in Las Vegas on May 1, 2025.

Jeff Bridges signed 8 x 10.

A wonderful selection of handwritten items from The Velvet Underground’s drummer, Moe Tucker, to Warner Bros Records executive Bill Bentley.  These all date from circa 1989:

Didn't see this earlier -- incredible!

Thank you!

I was thrilled to add them to my collection.  Lots of research to get my teeth into, too, which was very satisfying.

Love collections, especially when there are personal connections between the author/signer and recipient.

Me too.

Bill Bentley wasn’t just any old suit at Warner Bros.  He is a longtime Velvets insider.  Bill played drums in an Austin, TX bar band called The Bizarros, in the mid-1970s, with Sterling Morrison.  At Warners, Bill was Lou Reed’s publicist and a trusted friend.  He now works at the Neil Young Archive.

The collection I bought also includes a phone memo from MC Kostek (Velvet Underground Appreciation Society co-founder and co-owner of 50 Skidillion Watts Records) to Bill.  The note is in an unknown hand, so the interest here is in the content, not the “autograph” element:

I’ve been in contact with both Mike Kostek and Bill Bentley regarding this memo, but neither man can remember exactly what “Lou Reed Canadian” refers to.  Our best collective guess is that it concerned Moe Tucker’s supporting dates during the August 1989 leg of Lou’s New York Tour, which included several shows in Canada.

Also, in the handwritten note from Moe to Bill, Moe refers to “Howard(?) Stein”.  She actually meant to say Seymour Stein, co-founder of Sire Records.  Bill has confirmed to me personally that Moe was hoping he could help broker a new record deal for her at Sire.

This year is something... finally got a signed Gretzky in the wild, and in a book that I haven't seen this variation on it. "99: Stories of The Game", with a TD Bank logo on the back. No markings on the inside to indicate this is a variant edition, but I suspect that a run of these was made to give to TD employees. It's possible Gretzky did a signing event in Toronto for employees.

Excellent find, especially in the wild.  Well done.

K-DOT Kendrick Lamar Signed Training Day Promo Mixtape CD. This CD cover was signed by Kendrick Lamar during his video shoot of “Not Like Us” on top of the parking garage at the Compton Courthouse on June 22, 2024.
