Speaking of limits, Waterstones should have just tied it in with Plus accounts/gated so that it was one per order. They're already gating other big-ticket preorders in this manner.

Doing it this way was just asking for trouble, lol. I'm mulling over ordering through the other link

I think Waterstones was limited to one per order.

yep, true for Waterstones...

Perhaps one per person/address as well, as I only

got one clean order through, additional orders cancelled

(a lot like the Anthony Hopkins Book)...one per order, one per person!

At least it cuts down on Flippers buying the stock up!

I stand corrected!

How do Bookshop still have copies for sale? I’m in the UK and never heard of them, do they sell direct or via other book stores?!?

They do have a good reputation .  I dont think they sell via other book stores.  I would imagine someone has forgotten to remove the link as I cant possibly believe they have copies left

Bookshop?

Who do they have a good reputation with? I have never heard of them either.

I would advise caution ordering anything from anyone online that you don't have prior knowledge/experience of - so many scammers are setting up "shop" as opportunities arise, these days. This would be a big opportunity to fleece the unwary.

Lots of people being duped by fake sites being advertised on Instagram and Facebook atm.

Ok let's stop the wild speculations here. Bookshop is a collective of independant bookstores in the UK, totally legit but extremely unreliable when it comes to the fulfilment of rare or limited edition books. I reckon many orders will be cancelled.

Hardly a wild speculation. It's good to know they are legit but by your own admission they are "extremely unreliable when it comes to the fulfilment of rare or limited edition books". Worse than useless, therefore. Personally I do not wish to be wasting my time - especially during a feeding frenzy - and handing over my credit card information to suppliers who don't actually have the product they claim to possess.

Legit and reliable are two very different things indeed. People were clearly wondering about Bookshop and worried about a potential scam website, so I took time to share my knowledge regarding who they are and the risks they posed - or not. You're welcome.

It's interesting that there is a notification of it being sold out when you click on the link, but you can still add it to your cart with the "Signed Edition" tag.

The link is now showing as available but limited to 1 copy.
