*****YEAR IN REVIEW 2025: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?*****

Wanted to start as always by thanking our founder Steve Cyrkin, Admin for this wonderful site!

I'm up to, and thankful for all my 105 Friends here, and so appreciate everybody's contributions in this community to help build our collections in this Autograph hobby we all so love.

As 2025 comes to a close, it's time again for:

*****YEAR IN REVIEW 2025: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?*****

If you all will kindly allow me to go first here's

*****MY GETS: (In no apparent order):

.Anthony Hopkins (He is a classical pianist and composer)

.Michael J Fox (autographed my Back To The Future 40th Anniversary 345 Guitar)

.Robert Plant

.David Gilmour

.Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson

.Pat Benatar

.Lionel Richie

.Elton John (someone gave me one of the "EJ" initialled "Who Believes"..is this even a GET?)

.Priscilla Presley

*****MY MISSES:

None this year, our awesome community shared some incredible finds and I got all the ones that personally interested me !

This year, again, I maintained my promise to my wife and Jason H that I was pulling back on purchasing, as my autograph collection now completely fills the walls in my Music/Autograph room!

*****HOPES FOR 2026:

.Elvis Presley - but it's gotta be amazing like Steve Cyrkin, Admin 's, and authenticated by

roger epperson, and no wannabe authenticators!

.Axl Rose - at a reasonable price, not the junk filled comic book "Appetite" collection.

.Roger Waters - at a reasonable price, maybe nice and simple like a CD, but not a large Boxset.

So...now it's your turn.... 2025: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year...See you in 2026 !!!

The focus of my collection remains vintage concert memorabilia, not autographs.  It’s been a remarkable year in that respect, with many extremely rare handbills, tickets, and unique/personal items added.

My two favourite autographed items are this pair of fully signed Velvet Underground tickets from the opening night of their 1993 reunion tour:

Fully signed Velvets items are highly desirable, and these tickets have to be worth a minimum of £500 each.  Yet they were both sent to me, free of charge, by an extremely generous fan who I’ve only made contact with this past year, and who I’ve never met in person.

In terms of signed things, there are very few misses this year that have kept me up at night.  Bit annoyed that I didn’t get a copy of the latest Taylor Swift album, but I have so many autographs from her already.

No hopes as such for 2026.  The exciting thing about collecting vintage memorabilia is that you never know what is coming next.

Those are amazing Velvet pieces Stepeanut  !

Had a few nice gets IP this year

- Desmond Child - at a masterclass at Stockholm Academy of Music

- Wolf Hoffman (Accept) - at a show

- Roger Taylor (Queen) - after the Polar Music Prize event

- Robin McAuley (MSG etc) at Rocknytt Indoor festival

But also some near misses:

- Brian May - he walked out from another entrance and into a cab the very moment Roger Taylor was signing for us

- Guns'N Roses - was at their hotel but the band changed plans with short notice to make it from their 4th of July show to the Ozzy Osbourne "Back to the Beginning" event on the 5th.

2026.... maybe another shot at Guns and Queen who should be touring.

How great to get Roger Taylor IP  Oryxandcrake , those are my favorite autographs to get, as

they mean way more to me that I actually MET the person! Hope Queen tours...JJ

Was Wolf at a VIP event or does he also sign before/after the show?

Oh so many this year.

Blackberry Smoke (entire band) at M&G

Joe Bonamassa at a M&G

BIlly Gibbons Fuzzy mini guitar

John Rich

Pat Benatar/Neil Geraldo signed book

Cheap Trick signed CD

Misses - None that I really cared about.

Next Year?  Who knows.  Have always wanted a Jimi Hendrix sig but don't know if it's really worth it to spend $6-10K for a single autograph.

I really like Blackberry Smoke too  Steve P., nice get.

You should check out Dirty Honey, they're great.

Favorite aftermarket purchase is a signed & numbered Clapton autobiography as I’ve been chasing a quality autograph of Eric’s for a while.

Top Musician Direct purchases are the Gilmour book, Roger Waters box set with print, the Fogerty record, the Robert Plant cds, Doobie Brothers & Santana cds.

Favorite IP was a Bryan Adams M&G at a Barnes & Noble before his show. He only did three in the US but one of those was here in Pittsburgh!

Stalger Those are some very nice Gets, I would like to get a Roger Waters in 2026.

perhaps he'll release a new CD and offer a singed version...fingers crossed.

My favorite "get" this year may be this annotated TLS (and original mailing envelope) from legendary escape artist/illusionist Harry Houdini from 1925.

Houdini sent this from the US to fellow magician Will Goldstone across the pond and references his then-obsessive battle with the Spiritualists who were preying on grieving people hoping to contact the dead.  Houdini made it a crusade to expose the fakes who were preying on innocent folks being taken in by this activity which had a mania in the 20s following the human loss of life particularly as a result of the Great War and the Influenza epidemic.

Also accompanying the letter and envelope is the clipping Houdini references in his letter which has descriptions of Houdini himself, Goldstone and other magicians then currently popular.

Oh, that is lovely Eddy!
