Hello guys,

So I was checking out some of the prices for autographs on some athletes who are Steiner exclusive. And honestly, I feel like the prices are generally extremely high. I might be crazy, but what are your thoughts? Also, are they trustable?

Thanks!

Congratulations, you cant go wrong with these guys, Sometimes the peace of mind is worth the extra money and like previously mentioned resale down the road is easier on premium items.

and heartbroken in a few years when the ball is worthless and so is Pedroza... LOL

It's funny how I have heard that speech a million times before. Seriously, I am of the opinion that if he were to stop playing today, he would still have left his own mark on the game. Sure, he might not be the best player in the league, hell not even the best second baseman (Robinson Cano), but still, he's a great story for baseball. I wish him the best of luck. You know why? Because half of the people don't give him a chance. If he ever becomes a bust, well i'll look dumb, I guess. But something tells me that in couple of years, you might just have to correct the 'Worthless' and 'Pedroza. parts of your sentence :P

yeah I remember when A-Rod used to be good? What about McGwire, Bonds, Clemons...and "let me tell ya a little something about Sammy Sosa"as Harry Carey used to say.

Is Pedrozia any better than those guys? NO. You could trade a stick of chewing gum for any one of those autographs now and THEY WERE GOOD and should woulda coulda been sure hall of famers...I'm just saying.

If you love the grittiness of the guy Pedrozia and you have a ball on your desk because it makes you work hard and reach your full potential, then great! That's what collecting is all about.

You are totally right. Saying things before the fact is actually accomplished is hard. VERY hard. But I'm the kind of person who likes to believe. That autograph will be something I cherish for a long time. The thing is, back in 2004, I saw the Sox win it all. But back in the day, I was very young, and I can't say I identify with the team that much. But through 2006 to 2013, I have followed them more closely, and have always liked Pedroia very much. Again, I don't think this guy will get to the HOF, nor am I saying '3000 hits for sure'. But what I can tell you is that I consider missing his at bats a felony. I watched him for a good part of his career and I identify myself more to him more than let's say Ortiz or any other Sox player. Hell, I had the chance to get a 40$ Jonny Gomes ball the other day and fake or not, I just didn't feel like it was warranted. Why? Because it would have probably ended up in the corner of a room, because I don't identify to him. Might sound corny, but a lot of people in life have told me 'you can't do this' or 'you can't do that' and he seems to be the perfect example of a guy who was passed on for rather weird reasons (size), kept going and now he's got two rings. So to sum up, I can assure that it will fire me up.

fyi sureshotpromotions is authentic and does many private and public signings in the boston area

Steiner is a brand name & trustworthy.  But some of their prices are insane.  IMO they have also ruined the hobby in a way because a lot of their 'private signers' now refuse to sign for free when you meet them.  And they capitalize on every achievement an athlete makes.

Yup and that is why I will probably pay dearly to get Red Sox autographs lol

Gabriel, I have been purchasing from Steiner Sports for nineteen years and will continue to do so.  I would rather have less items in my collection that I know are authentic.  You will not regret spending the extra money on a one of a kind item.  Congratulations!

I'm the exact opposite, I refuse to pay "retail" and mainly only look for great deals. Not sure if its the business student within me that likes making a great deal or if its just cause I'm cheap haha. I still respect decisions to buy from Steiner and such, as you know exactly what you're getting and you won't get burned as much as me.

Just to add for everyone keep an eye on steiners auctions. I got a huge 16x20 Peyton signed photo for almost $150 less than their retail price. Sadly they don't have many autos I'm interested in but I deff keep my eye open.

Was their retail price $999? ;)
