Any intelligent person knows that policy is a farce. How do you PROVE something is fake short of having a video of the forger doing it, or the item the signature is on did not exist during the person's lifetime? In fact, that did occur with the Ruth ball and AAU still claimed they were right!

There is what you can "prove," and what educated people "know." Some people skate by based on the technicality it is sometimes difficult to prove what everyone knows.

The main thing is that his POS Mantle/Maris forgeries have been pulled.

These sellers of forgeries always show their true colors.

What do you have to say about this Bill Black, from the Universal Autograph Collector's Club's official website?

Expelled From The UACC

John Brett dba America's Memories & Cards n Stars-458 Fisherman Rd. Pottsboro, Tx 75076. Expelled 05/19/13. The UACC received a complaint from UACC member Dr. William Altman regarding items that were purchased and certified by Drew Max and Christopher Morales. In Max's case an 8x10-inch Beatle signed photo all in dark with black sharpie pen. The Morales items were a signed James Dean card, Elvis Presley signed photo, Janis Joplin signed album and a Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix signed albums. These items were inspected and reviewed by UACC approved authenticators and found to be not genuine. The albums in question were re-releases printed years after Morrison and Joplin and Hendrix died. Mr. Brett was notified by UACC President Michael Hecht to return Dr. Altman's money. He refused and resigned from the club.

Let me say it differently, Bill Black. Aren't you John Brett of America's Memories?

You said, "And, Steve your opinion is also worthless."

I knew enough to recognize the ridiculous forgeries you sold Dr. Altman for tens of thousands of dollars. He contacted me first and I was horrified--but not surprised--by what I saw. I recommended that he get them appraised by Al Wittnebert of the UACC, for two reasons:

First, because I knew you'd either have to refund Dr. Altman's money for the forgeries you sold him or you'd be kicked out of the UACC and their Registered Dealer program.

Secondly, because Dr. Altman lives in the Southeast, Al lives in Florida, and is an experienced authenticator and appraiser who will testify in court.

This is probably the first time Al has heard that I was the one who sent Dr. Altman to him.

And I take great pride in helping you get yourself expelled from the UACC.

Now why don't you show you have a shred of conscience and give Dr. Altman his money back?

Hopefully he has.

Steve,

Would you be able to provide further information/documentation on the complaint made by Dr. Altman against John Brett with the UACC?

It would be much appreciated, as I recently  purchased one of these pieces - a Janis Joplin album - at auction from the estate of Dr. Altman. I was assured that it was authenticated by a reputable source.
