Do your research, plenty of good and bad on the net. But again keep in mind that this is a business and there are plenty of people protecting and attacking sellers and companies.

I understand that.  But coming on here day in & out, most of the items people post get a thumbs down.  it is very disheartening to know so many ebay  sellers and auction houses scam people so much.  its actually quite disgusting IMO and makes you want to give up the hobby.

As Bernie says do your research, and sites like this are part of it.  But I also understand where John is coming from.  items bought years ago before there was much internet research present a problem.  Also a firm like Gotta Have Rock & Roll who has been around for years, supposedly reputable and specialize in rock and roll items of all kind, well , you would think you are safe with their stuff.

John and Steve,

Wascher posted a few hours ago that Bernie Chatzky has the same IP address as another member, going by the name of Anna Blanco. That means they would have to be accessing the Internet from the same location. The photo "Anna" used belongs to a someone with a different name. She turned out to be Erick McKay Burgos, a major forger of Michael Jackson, who Wascher says now does the Beatles and other music artists. There are major discussions on his Jackson forgeries on this site.

I've actually had some of his Beatles stuff (as well as other forgeries he's done) in my folders for awhile now.   Innuendo once noted, he's one of the best Freddie forgers he's seen too, so that is something else to watch for.

I remember the scans you posted washer of lennon and Freddie. I also remember Bernie asking people to explain why John lennon was not authentic on Fb thread, it may have been one of his, or he was looking to sharpen his tools.

He did it w/ Jackson auto's and artwork as well.  Testing the forum. 

This is something you will see no matter who is doing the forging.   I've seen Ryan bust a bunch of people doing this on sports items too.   Then they ask how you can tell whats wrong with it or where the errors are and play dumb, like a new person and they need help learning how to spot forgeries.  

Some people don't understand why people won't go into detail.  They don't believe that people come to the forum to do this.  But they do.

I used to get bashed a lot for not explaining "Why a certain autograph is not authentic?"

Anyone who believes that the forgers don't read our threads is naive and ignorant.

The other thing I learned here from you Christopher (and a few others by watching your sports items) - is that forgeries do destroy the value of legit items. You had brought that up when I was fairly new on the forum and I heard it but it went in one ear and out... until I watched it happen with MJ artwork.  MJ authentic artwork was going for over 10k when he died.  Recently an authentic piece squeaked through without notice for 720.00 - because the market is FLOODED with junk from forgers.   Its irritating for sure watching someone (or two or three) single handedly destroy the value of legit items. 

All we can do is keep helping others so they don't end up with one of the junk items on the market, because eBay certainly does not care.

Forgeries have absolutely destroyed the true market for autograph items.

All of that crap like the thousands of GFA (Stephen Rocchi) certed forgeries, Chris Morales, Ted Taylor, Drew Max, etc. have all destroyed the true market for autographs.

That's why sellers of authentic autographs, for the most part, have fixed auctions.  They simply cannot compete with sellers of forgeries.
