Help! AAU Certified Babe Ruth/Ty Cobb Baseball and 14 HOFer Signed Induction Card Kicked Off eBay

I purchased through an auction house a signed Babe Ruth/Ty Cobb baseball and a HOF's signed induction card with 14 signatures. These items came with a COA from AAU, Drew Max, Pawn Stars authenicator. I put these on Ebay, only to be kicked off because their 3rd party authenticators said they were fakes. After some research, I found out that Ebay does not recognize "Forensic Examiners"...why. They are far more educated in this arena than those other so called experts. So I go to a well established auction house, they send those items out to PSA along with some others I know for sure are authentic because I have pics of the individuals signing the items. Not to my surprise, all but one comes back not authenticated. Even the ones I know are for real...so much for PSA. Anyway, I contacted AAU and the president, Marc Goldman emails me to give him a call, I do. He states that all the above forementioned items are real and that he will go to court with me to prove such. He also stated that Ebay had contacted them in 1997-98 to be their 3rd party authenticator, they turned them down...hence the snub on Ebay. He also stated that I should sell these with a clear mind, that I am not frauding anyone. So who do I believe? Oh, and the orginal auction house says that they sold me an authentic items. These items are worth, between 40,000 and 50,000 if real. So any adivice? I'm seriously thinking of hiring a lawyer. It's not about money, but principal.

Bill, that is funny.

I would have sympathy for Ron if he had purchased an appliance that was defective and was unable to get a refund or a replacement. The truth is, Ron purchased those autographs with the sole intent on flipping for a profit. He probably thought he got a bargain (and lucky) to purchase that 14-sig HOF Induction Sheet for $600.00 and that he could flip it for five times his purchase price. Then Ebay removed his auction(s) and he runs here looking for help with an attitude.

I have zero sympathy for people like Ron.

@BillM = that would be my take but we may never know. Some mistakenly feel that it's ok to pounce while believing that it will not provoke a knee jerk reaction. From there is just disintegrates as it did this time.

and as far as this is concerned; The truth is, Ron purchased those autographs with the sole intent on flipping for a profit. So what? Unfortunately, Ron like many others thought they had a bargain and it must be "authentic as it's certified". Gee where have I heard that one before. And now he is hearing that not only is it not authentic but you may have just lost $600 on top of it. It would have been nice to know how the following occurred: 3rd party authenticators said they were fakes but that opportunity appears lost as well..

I find the rooky aspect more telling with his statement on All Forensic Examiners on EBAYs Banned list; Reply by ron slagle 26 minutes ago on ebays own page, list of authenticators (3) PSA JSA and one other Global I believe. Under banned it states " forensic examiners", not by name, but all inclusive. We know better but the way that list is created I'm sure there is alot more confusion for those who take the time to find it but don't have the insight.

Rick: So what do you want to do with it - sell it or pawn it.

Ron; Sell it.

Rick; Do you mind me asking what you paid for it?

Ron; $600.00 (although I never understood why so many volunteer this information).

Rick; Well, we'll give you $300... and the rest of the script is well known.

Yeah... I would never tell them what I paid for an item. Then again, it's probably totally scripted anyway. I've actually been enjoying Cajun Pawn Stars more than the Las Vegas version.

In a recent episode they showed a Mantle ball in the Cajun shop and... GASP... It was actually authentic! What a refreshing change.

Meanwhile, a recent episode of Auction Kings also showed a Mantle ball in the shop and it was one of the odious Burczyk Florida fakes. That trash is everywhere.

I have very little knowledge of vintage baseball items, other than very basic concept of what Ruth and Cobb should look like. Signatures themselves aside, does the aging on the paper or ball look even close to right? That was the first think that struck me. They look like they're from the 80's.

Kaptain Kirk is not a well established auction house they are crooks. They just resold those ridiculous Babe Ruth signed bowling pins that they purchased from Pioneer Auction Gallery. I have had long heated discussions with this auction house about portraying themselves as a front runner in the business when most of their business is forgeries. Sorry Ron that you did not catch some of the earlier articles and information that has been on here about Kaptain Kirk.

of course, this while prevalent in many places ought to be something that ought to cause people to really do their homework even if it has a "COA" or fascimile thereof.
