Bad experience with eBay seller Bandersnark, also known as Snark on this forum.

Hi all,

here's a "nice" story about my recent experience with this person from Canada.

I bought the following The Cure cd from him:

http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/The-Cure-signed-Pornography-autographed...?

He also listed this item at the Buy/sell group here: http://live.autographmagazine.com/group/free-autograph-buy-sell-tra...

I bought it, thought he could be trusted since he also listed here. To be sure, I asked Roger Epperson's opinion a few days later (stupid, I know) and he said: "afwul item and not even close".

I asked Snark to refund me, off course after I sent the item back to him. I did the item (even unopened) back to the post and sent it back the 9th october (I have a recipe of the shipping costs I made, but of course this has no value).
I mailed Snark and he only said: "I hope you used tracking, because otherwise there is no guarantee I will ever receive the item back". I already saw the problems coming: he immediately covered himself by asking if I used tracking. I knew that I would never get a refund.
I also asked him to refund my shipping costs because that seems logic to me. His answer: "nice try, why would I do that?".
Maybe less common but I also asked him to refund the 15 dollar I paid for Roger's opinion. To me this seems logic too, I refer to his description on eBay: "I guarantee that these autographs will pass authentication by Roger Epperson".
Seems this phrase has no value at the end.
He also states that "further details of signing will be given to the buyer". I haven't receveid any details because I'm 99,9% sure he wasn't there when the cd was signed.

I didn't answer him and let it go for a few weeks, because off course I didn't use tracking. I just posted the item the normal cheapiest way, and never ever had any problems with this way of posting in all the transactions I did (all sort of items from all over the world). 20 days later he didn't receive the item so that's impossible. I'm 99,9% it's already collecting dust in his house.
His last mail states: "let us be honest, if you are trying to get a refund, you should have used tracking".
Maybe the item is still on its way, but I don't believe in fairytales.

But in the end, he'll say shortly with a smile that it's his word against mine. It's easy to cheat on people far away from overseas. I know I'm right, I'm just a music lover searching for genuine items, nothing more, nothing less.  I rely on the honesty of traders when I do transactions.
Another lesson in the autograph hunting for me, and maybe other buyers will think twice if they want to buy something from him.

Dan,

My policy is that whomever is discussed on this site can join this site so they can participate in any such discussions, as long as they're not disruptive.

Something I think I need to stress more is that while we screen advertisers, we don't screen members for honesty or ethics, whether they're collectors, dealers or authenticators. Every member should follow the same safe collecting practices they'd follow anywhere else.

The photo I refer to is the photo of the CD you sold. Remember how you said it would pass Roger Epperson authetication. Bjorn called your bluff, if failed, you sell fakes, end of story. Bjorn cut off communication after you made it clear you would not entertain a refund without the tracking, you are a scammer

The good news is that Google leads to this site and anyone bidding on your forgeries in future will hopefully find this thread and avoid you as anyone on this site will but good luck continuing to peddle your forgeries.

It appears from the items that I have seen on your ebay site that you guarantee that they are all guaranteed to  pass Roger Epperson , PSA or JSA authentication.

Page one:  (Snark incriminates himself by actually adding the photo of the CD into the discussion himself--but forgets later on)  Priceless.

If he removes it, I obviously now took a screen capture, and I will be adding it back in.

Probably took photo after he got it back in the mail.

how does this incriminate myself?

Dan Gregory: 'your attitude and manners made it clear you were never going to admit if you ever got the photo back '

again, no photo changed hands. it was an autographed disc.

That's right, it was a CD. Snark would know as it is sitting right in front of him. It's been there for weeks. And I'm sure he will eventually try to sell it again, but this time he will likely not suggest Roger as his preferred authenticator.

Snark,

I'm the manager of this community and I've known Bjorn since he joined almost two years ago. I know Bjorn to be absolutely honest and no one here has ever reported a problem with him of any sort. I can't imagine him ever taking advantage of anyone.

If Epperson said the CD was "awful and not even close," that means that there is not a question in his mind that the autographs are forgeries. Since you guaranteed it to pass Epperson, and Bjorn paid for the CD, shipping and for Roger to authenticate it, what about at least meeting Bjorn half way? Bjorn spent $100 for the CD, $15 for authentication and perhaps $10 to you for shipping. That's $125.

If that's the total, what about refunding him $62.50?

"After seeing Bjorn did not purchase additional tracking, I have no interest in entertaining Bjorn with a refund"

There, I had to fix it for you. It's clear Snark is not going to refund him, he knew he had Bjorn scammed the second he said he didn't buy additional tracking. Since then all he has done is rub it in over and over. I've seen this "no tracking" scam a million times, low-life losers pull it off to get a card/photo for free. All it does is hurt the honest people. Sad really, much like many things in this hobby.

We can keep Snark on here, but good luck getting help from any other AML members on any item in question, and he should not be allowed to sell any item on here again.

I'm done with this thread, I'm sure Snark will cry victim again and pull the "tracking" card like he has done for 9 pages. Bjorn, the $100 loss is worth it exposing this tool.

No big surprise to any of us.

"Weasel himself through PayPal"  - it is sentences like this that tell us what your about.

A few things about you that you keep forgetting---remember you wanted facts:

You guaranteed it to pass.  It didn't.

You "foresaw" the future of it not arriving when you asked him if he put tracking on the package (after he told you he sent it back)---not twice beforehand as you are NOW suggesting.

You lied on your eBay complaint stating you never got notice that Epperson didn't approve of the CD.

You have continued over and over on this thread to TWIST things - and when you can't "weasel" out of it, you get cocky, like when I mentioned you lied on eBay about Epperson the first time.

You have turned on the buyer, like no other seller would unless he was being a con.  Most people who would have an item coming back that they guaranteed (and it failed) would be apologetic, would try to help the buyer, would be saying (if it hadn't yet arrived)..... "it could still be on its way, lets give it a few more weeks to see if it arrives", or "I realize your upset, I am too, it didn't arrive, how about we both take a 50/50 hit on this for both of our errors".

But not you..... nope, no way.... we're all the scammers, the frauds, the peanut gallery.  Heck we even sent you subliminal messages telling you to print in BIG LETTERS it would pass Epperson on eBay, and we knew it wouldn't--cuz that's how us frauds roll... (that's how stupid your accusations sound of him actually wanting to keep a bad CD)

Have a nice day Snark.  Karma.

Sorry Steve, I promised to behave myself, and I normally do.  This one just got under my skin a bit.

-w

@Washer..Karma is a bitch and this A** wipe seller is just that... a complete loser, bitch. First anyone who is forging CURE scribbles on CD's is almost as asinine as anyone buying it. LOL

The right thing to do is to credit the buyer back for the 100.00 he paid. He wasn't happy with the purchase, so give him his money back period. Fake or not.

Only COMPLETE A whole would not take something back on Scam bay...and snark is a complete A whole period bar NONE.
