How long can an autograph be in the open for?

I have bought autograph's which I have no idea how to frame yet. How long can I leave them out? I keep them in a drawer, protected, but I know I can't keep them like that forever. Is there a better way to keep them from fading etc. for a while until I can frame them?

If they're socked away in a drawer, as Pete noted, they're not going to fade, especially if they're signed on paper. Sigs signed on paper don't fade as much as say signatures on photos or baseballs for example. That's why there are still authentic boldly-signed autographs of Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson still out there.

I stick mine in a plastic sleeve (pvc free or not who knows) and store them upright between the rest of the record collection, don't store them flat on top of one another.

Yeah I have them stored the same way, but I worry that the sleeves have PVC.

BCW makes a PVC free sleeve for records.

and Ultra Pro Platinum 3 ring binder pages are available for trading cards, 3x5, 4x6, 5x8, 8x10, 8.5x11 etc. all with no PVC.
