Old guy seems legit. Bought it from a very reputable dealer in Vegas who died about 6 years ago. BUT, I sent a pic to Global Authentics (they offer a quick opinion for $10) and they came back with a negative.  So crap. I doubt $10 got me more than a glance at it, but still, it has no COA and I don't want to buy if I can't get someone reputable to say it's authentic, just in case i ever had to liquidate.  So, anyone on here know Eddie VH signature really well? It says Van Halen 07 under the signature and by the way, who would butcher that part so badly if they were doing a fake?  Just a thought.  Any help would be appreciated.

You have seen proof this guitar came direct from this Ed Roman to this seller?

Even if this seller bought guitars from this Ed Roman it wouldn't take much to say yeah I got this signed guitar from him you know?
Yeah I know. You talk to the old man for an hour and tell me you think he's a scam artist. Won't happen. I believe he believes it is real and who he got it from. Just want proof and haven't gotten it.

You want proof its real for good reason, cause to resell in future no one will buy into the old man story even if real-they are going to want provenance and autograph analysis

What if I told you most anything that old man says means nothing to me? Unless he has a photo....

Do you really believe one of the greatest guitar players of his time would give a cheap $100 guitar to the maker of high end custom guitars some of which supposedly were made for EVH? And you seem not to understand why I'm skeptical about it? You would think between the two of them one might have a nicer guitar laying around somewhere.

I'm trying my best not to laugh here but it is becoming increasingly more difficult.
I never said that. What the old man was told was that the guitar shop owner got some Eddie signed pick guards and slapped one on a cheap squire and gave it to him as a gift becsuse of a mess up on one of the custom guitars he had made. All of his custom guitars are for sale on eBay, you can look for yourself. Probably $30k or more worth of guitars (though he's asking for more like $70k)because he doesn't want them to sell becsuse his wife is making him sell the whole collection. I'm impressed by it. It's a lifetime of guitars from a serious collector. So the signature may be fake but if it is, he doesn't know it. He has a charvel art series VH at $8k and I asked why so much and he said because he didn't want to sell it, then came down to 3500, which is still high unless it's a 1st run but I don't think it is. But he's a big time van halen fan who thinks he has a legitimate signature if nothing else because of who gave it to him. Any better?
Understand it better. Thanks. I hope your real careful with this. That's not chump change.
I'm being careful. My new slash will make me feel better until I'm sure I've got the real deal on a VH. Thanks
How long have you been collecting autographs for Jeff?
I haven't really. Got and Eddie VH when I was young out of pure determination and ruined it. Little brother got himself and me and our other brother completely scammed by a guy he does work for! a few years ago with some fake guitars, and that's it until I decided recently to get a Chris Cornell and I liked the slash so I got it because I like him. Other than the VH I can see a few others I'd like to have but I don't see myself going crazy. I did buy a 69 SG that ended up not having a serial number a few years ago. I wasn't looking for it to sell or as something to put on a wall so I just liked it and how it played and sounded and figured out later why it was as cheap as it was for thst guitar. But I could probably get what I paid back out of it if I needed to, if it's someone thst just wants an old sg because of how it looks and plays and sounds. Now thst I think about it, that was an old lady who's husband died! Old people keep trying to screw me! Now that I think about it even more, an old guy screwed me over on some work on my old car recently too! That's it, nobody trust any old people! They look old and sweet and wrinkly and cute and honest but they're really just a bunch of lying bastards who lie and cheat because they think they've earned the right, apparently! No more old people. Oh and my girlfriend bought me a ray Davies signed guitar that I wonder about. It's certified with psa/DNA but I'm not sure about it.
Where did you buy the Slash and Cornell from?
Ebay. Got those looked at first though. The dude another guy on here told me to use said they were OK. Those are both really intricate signatures... I could see getting either of those down good as a forger being hard. Would tske awhile I would think.
