NEWLY SURFACED LENNON SIGNED IMAGINE ALBUM???
What's your opinions on this Lennon autographed IMAGINE album from WFIL?
I believe it's AUTHENTIC. That would make it one only 12? Known to exist. I used to own one and sold it at GOTTAHAVEROCKANDROLL auctions. This has probably one of the best placed signatures I've seen on an IMAGINE album. It also has the doodle and the year, which is rare for WFIL. I only know of a few others with the doodle.
I feel it is very similar to this WFIL signed TWO VIRGINS.
Pictured is another from WFIL with the doodle and year which looks like it reads 78 but its 75.
Also pictured is a 1975 test press album inner sleeve signed by John. Pretty similar doodle and date formations.
I like the fact it has the doodle and year which is SPOT ON to my eyes. It gives more forensics for you to look at other than an autograph which can be practiced over and over.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by:
"When beginning the process of compiling, I got sent a lot as a way of record keeping and weren't for sale. I bought and consigned a few and when looking I try to find trademarks consistent with others I had that received good feedback from others."
Reminds me of a scene in one of my favorite movies.
I agree, Steve. How is this possible? I’ve seen a similar loop in a few of my exemplars, but to see them one after another across this many signatures is bizarre. The signatures don’t vary to the extent that you’d expect with WFIL signatures.
I heard for an excellent source that there is a forger who has been doing alot of the WFIL type of Lennon signatures.
That top one a common forgery style I've seen quite a bit and have been offered flto buy or inquired for authentication. I always say if it's real you'll never get an a-ok. Sorry.
I can't make out the part of the top one on black but the visible part is obviously a poor forgery.
The bottom one isn't what I consider a well done forgery but I've seen a lot worse.
I believe Rolling Stone, like most magazines, post-date their issues so they are still "current" on the newsstand. I would bet that the May 22 issue was available at the time of John's WFIL appearances of May 16, 17, & 18.
I know the photo. I know it was taken the last day Sunday. It doesn't make sense from a timeline point of view.
Yes. The something new and let it be are very similar. Both gorgeous thick bold examples. Love the rock and roll.
