Hi, I don't want to burst your bubble but NO, that book with that kind of flaw would actually be impossible to sell. The one flaw that would increase a books value is if it had two signed pages in it. It happened to me twice with the Pele and Tom Hanks books and I sold them for a very high premium.  An upside down book? There is zero market for that.  If you are keeping the book.for the signatures, by all means keep it. If you are keeping the book thinking to sell it down the road,  I would get my money back.  The book would actually be considered damaged

Come on now.. impossible to sell? It will sell at least for what others sell for based on autograph worth alone. This flaw does not decrease the value in any way. If im looking for specific autographs, especially these which can be cut out, I wouldn't look for a discount because its upside down... I would actually expect a flaw to be sold for more. If my book came from Amazon upside down, I would not return it. If you are upset about it, I would say test the open market 1st before the return window closes. You have time if bought from amazon

Makes sense... list it on ebay with a reserve and see what it gets bid up to. That would tell for sure if it's worth more or less than one without an error. Better to find out while you still have it... and if not send it back and buy another copy.

Fact is it is a defective copy. In Germany these books must be signed as defective copy. These books are not for sale.

If this book was not signed by Obama and Springsteen you can it throw away. Nobody buy such a book. Now it is signed so you can get some money. But i think not so much....The book is damaged.

It was just $289 on Amazon. Then back to normal price again. I clicked on it and it was 3 something then it said price had changed to $289 when it was still in my cart.

Did you buy it?

yes

I would consider the upside down book a dented can. An undesirable production error.

Okay, so...for those that think it's not a big deal having an upside down book, or that it's worth more...PLEASE....PM me and maybe we can make a deal. The autographs look beautiful.

A far as the book goes it's defective. The signatures is what took a $40 book and made it a $500 book. I wasn't a buyer at $500. Still won't pay $500 for it. But, maybe somebody out there would find your defective signed book interesting. Or....maybe not.

If most folks with the upside problem trim out the sigs, your copy as is might be something to hold on to. I find it very interesting. I'm reminded of an eror coin. Some, like a grease filled die, might not be worth much over face - some, like the double-dies, bring a huge premium. Steve C. would know if most error coins command a premium. I's hold onto it . I'd want to know how many there are etc., and that might take a while.

How much do you think the value is impacted of a sealed signed copy verses an opened signed copy? I want to see the signatures but also want to keep it mint and sealed.

The copy I got in December for $500 I opened and actually removed the signatures so I could have the Obama and Springsteen autographs separated in my collection. I was planning to keep this $300 copy I bought (has yet to arrive) sealed and complete but want to be sure signatures are there. I had a thought but not sure if it’s viable method…can a book be weighed with signed page removed and one with it included and if it weighs a tiny bit too little the signed page was removed and resealed? Not sure if this can work like it does with coins and metal content.
