Just seen,I can probably get a refund since I used PayPal. I hope you guys are right about him I mean he could just slipped up on some autos of Bowie I mean he’s human look how many Beatles forgeries have be sold as authentic forgers are good at what they do for a reason doesn’t mean Andy is one of them there is no proof as such. Also if he was a serial forger how is his website still up let alone trusted as it is? I mean he has made a name for himself as a Bowie expert.

Yes, but he seems to done this for a long time and have have good reviews from CNN on helping identify real autos that have sold for a lot of money and even been tagged on the official bowie facebook as being a legit source to getting a real autograph. I’m not taking sides but I have spent quite abit and not still no sure what to think. I appreciate you guys helping me out.

Maybe you should just keep it. After all, the forger assured you it was real.
BUT....if you ever go to sell it and you are told it is fake, don't dare act surprised or complain.

I’m just struggling to understand is all. He also had a money back guarantee so what is he gaining from selling fakes? I probably will ask for a refund but what proof do I have to send PayPal of what you are saying?

The illusion of a money back guarantee is a false sense of security for a buyer. I would also imagine it wont come easy if you were to ask nicely.
Finally, If he only refunds a handful from dozens, Id say thats a massive profit for some ink scribbles.

Most people do not do any due diligence or research at all either before or after purchase. It is unbelievable, but they just assume it is good because of the appearance of reputation. You still seem to be referring to Andy Peters. That is a false name leading nowhere. The name is Tony Ford.

I cant speak to all of that, but consensus among collectors is that AP is not a trusted source. I would fish elsewhere, personally. Just knowing that alot of collectors feel that way automatically craters any perceived value, does it not?
You certainly dont want to have this conversation every time you show it to someone, let alone when you try to sell it later on down the road. Not saying you will or would, but you always have to consider that you might need to recoup on your investment someday. There is a sizeable percentage of folks out there that wont touch an AP cert with a ten foot pole.
