I’ve often wondered if I’m the only person who doesn’t have a consistent signature? I’m looking back at everything I’ve signed over the years, none of them could be comparable. Now, I’m also wondering what that says about me. 😝

I've been rearranging my home since Christmas and sorting through some old things, and I have found many examples from 14-45 years ago on artwork and cards my Mom saved and while on the surface there seems dramatic change some things don't appear to have drifted.
My handwriting is much sloppier than it used to be, partially because I don't normally write on notepads (it;su usually in shortform once in a blue moon), and I didn't really write anything for a couple years during the pandemic.
My signature is much sloppier and carefree now (which is a problem, because I just got published in an anthology book and know if I ever bother to sign the work for someone, it's going to look real half-baked).
I have the same experience, I resort to signing a bunch before I sign books I have been involved with.
I like the word "carefree" to describe a signature style! 😊
p .s. Congrats on your inclusion in the anthology publication, crazyrabbits23!
It's natural for a signature to change or evolve over time.
Mine deteriorated so much that it reached the point where it looked like my first initial and a couple loops and squiggles afterward. People thought I was just signing my first name.
I write a lot of letters and I had to invent a new signature that looked respectable. The new one is something I must write very deliberately so my brain has not (yet) found a way to abbreviate it.
The older I get and the worse the arthritis gets the worse my signature varies. I can sign things within a minute of each other and they don't look the same. hmmmm
Yep. Same.
That’s why when I hear “that “i” wasn’t dotted on this example” I think to myself “pretty sure this isn’t necessarily a big contributing factor given the circumstances ”…….
When you get famous, we’ll all post photos of your signature and do a bunch of neurotic handwringing over the variations and inconsistencies 😀
I have a feeling that you’ll be waiting a long, long time 😛
