I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on this 1967 concert poster signed by Jimi Hendrix, that's currently up for auction. My personal view is that it's unlikely to be authentic.

I would pass on this one.

I agree, not real IMO.

Thanks for your opinions

No good

This is not even close. There are six peaks in "Jimi," and non-Jimi dots, among other things.

It really makes you wonder how a "specialist" auction house (International Autograph Auctions Europe S.L.) can offer such a thing and how it can already have 12 "watchers". If it were real I guess the estimate would be way higher than Euro 6-8k.

Watching an auction listing doesn’t necessarily imply an interest in bidding, or even a belief in the authenticity of the item.  I watch plenty of items on eBay, from the sublime to the ridiculous, just to keep track of what is happening in the marketplace.  As a result, I often receive seller offers, which I routinely decline.

Agreed. I should have made that point myself.

Sold for EUR 5,800 plus premiums etc. Total paid certainly north of EUR 7,000 before shipping and things like import duty. Jeepers creepers!

Word of caution with IAA. They pretend that all lots are sold in their auctions, when in reality many (from my experience, I would say the majority) aren't. If you check the results of each auction, they supposedly have 100% sell through rate in all auctions. If you look carefully, most of the hammer prices are at - or one bid below - their low estimate. This is the price they open the bidding, hoping somebody will bid one higher. They then mark the lot as sold, rather than being honest and letting the public know it was passed. It's a very disingenuous practice in my opinion.

That wouldn't surprise me with this bunch. The Hendrix was also one bid under the lower estimate so hopefully no one actually bought it.

I was following the auction live and I'm 99% sure it didn't sell.
