Derek Jeter Autographed Helmet FORGERY COA Not Steiner Sports

Here's another instance on Ebay where a seller is listing a Derek Jeter forgery on a helmet with a Steiner Sports COA.

We are seeing this scam more frequently on EBay.

Ebay doesn't care (it's more money in their pocket) and Steiner Sports doesn't care either.

This is a poorly-executed and laughable Derek Jeter forgery.

I will forward the link to the scam to Steiner Sports but they won't do anything about it because they don't care.

Here is that ugly Derek Jeter forgery on a helmet.

Here's another forged Derek Jeter baseball where the seller is using a Steiner COA in an attempt to pass it off as authentic.   Horrid-looking forgery.

Look at this forged Derek Jeter baseball with a so-called Steiner hologram.

Notice these sellers of forged Jeter autographs never have the Steiner COA card.

You would think Seiner would have enough brains to realize this garbage lowers values and cuts their own throat when people buy this crap instead of their own overpriced autographed stuff.

I've emailed Steiner Sports multiple times about this crap, and they don't reply.

Obviously they do not care, Ian.

I've once again sent Steiner Sports an email about this Derek Jeter forgery.

I think their attitude is that if you don't buy it directly from them, its not their problem.  but since it does hurt the resale value, at some point people will think twice about paying Steiner dollars if it turns out to be a bad investment.

This is a VERY BIG deal for Steiner and they need to crack down on this quick and hard...

If enough of these flood the market, this will get nasty.

Hey guys, I'm Kirbs009 on Ebay. First off just to go on record I am not the horrible a****** some are making me out to be... Nor someone who makes and sells forgeries at all. I was drunk the night I bought it on an ebay auction with about 2 minutes to go at only like 180$ or something I don't remember. I didn't have the proper time nor was in the proper mindset to make a legitimate decision on the helmet. Due to the fact it had a Steiner COA with the tamper proof hologram on back I was sold, even with the time limit. When I finally recieved the helmet and looked at it, it was nice but noticed the autograph was sloppy and didn't look like his. Because It had the Steiner COA card with the real tamper proof sticker on the back I figured it had to be real based on Steiners reputation. I have taken it down from my ebay listings as I take pride in who I am and for my eBay reputation and do not want to be associated with those crooks who forge autographs then sell them on eBay for money. Someone was nice enough to message me on eBay and tell me that it may be fake and mailed me the link to this same site I am writing on now. Thank you for info as it opened my eyes... As I am really confused and stressed out over what as happened the past few days, I do have some questions maybe you guys can answer honestly as I know this is a fake signed item.

How does this happen? I can understand other COA companies but I thought Steiner was one of the best out there who takes great pride in the items they offer? The tamper proof hologram on the helmet is an official Steiner issued hologram that has not been pealed off or "tampered" with to the best of my knowledge. I tried to scratch at it and it shows no signs of being messed with, nor has any creases or marks on it. I agree based on what I have read that it is fake but am just confused on how someone could pull this off so well. I can understand if Steiner faked this or someone who works there did this but from the reputation they have I cant see them doing this right? Any info, help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Again I am not a horrible scum POS a****** some of you may think I am... Just a kid who made a stupid drunken amateur mistake.

Charles... thanks for coming here and doing the right thing.

You will find a number of topics here regarding apparently suspect items bearing Steiner holograms. It seems to be a growing problem as of late. Whether these are counterfeited Steiner holograms or someone dishonest got their hands on a roll of real Steiner holograms or bad guys have found a way to remove real ones and place on another item remains unclear.

A number of people have sent inquiries to Steiner alerting them to this matter and there has been no response to my knowledge.

This has the potential to spiral out of control very quickly. If Steiner does not act aggressively to combat this, they could have a real crisis on their hands. Steiner's brand is EVERYTHING and you'd think they would protect it at all cost.

We call that having you beer goggles on Charles lucky it wasn't some sort at a bar.

Here's a link to another Ebay seller using a Steiner cert to sell his Derek Jeter forgery on a jersey.

The situation with sellers using Steiner certs to sell forgeries is getting out of control.

For the last five years it's been commonplace to see Ebay sellers using an old Scoreboard cert to sell their Mantle forgeries.

Steve- Thanks I appreciate it. I have nothing to hide and am willing to answer any questions anyone may have. I understand as their could be many different options on how this happened..I am just shocked as to how Steiner could let this happen. I also agree with you in that if they don't tackle this problem quickly then they will just become another tanted sports memorabilia franchise in this world and run the Steiner brand into the ground.

Paul- No kidding! It is a lesson to be learned. I will leave eBay alone if I have had one to many to drink lol

Also I forgot to say this in my first message but I have also called/emailed Steiner sports about this item. I have emailed them twice (with no response) and have called them... I forget who I talked to but they told me I would have to email customer care with my problem and attach pics of the item. When I told them I already had and never heard a response back the guy at Steiner told me "they would respond to the email in a timely manner".... It has been 3 or 4 days now with no response or anything.

Many of us here have reached out to Steiner Sports about this problem and no one has gotten a reply.

I agree 100% with Chris. I tried at least three times to call Brandon Steiner since no one replied to my emails. Of course no answer. I left a message informing him that as a customer of Steiner I take this VERY seriously and would hope that he would as well. Left my name and several contact #'s. Not ONE response. I quit. For now on Steiner products are on my No Buy list unless DIRECTLY from them.
