I'd say for the last 4-5 months VERY LITTLE authentic rock and roll autographed items have been put up for auction with no reserve.  Instead of auctions, most items have  ridiculous buy it now prices way more than actual value.

With the possible exception of Perry Cox's Beatles auctions (but those almost always sell for top prices due to Perry's reputation).

Perhaps the tons of fakes have finally scared away legitimate sellers?

When the EMR team was disbanded, it was all downhill from there.

Ebay spokesman Ryan Moore states "We've also broadened our internal team's expertise."

That's a bunch of crap!!!  There are no experts on Ebay's "Internal Team."

It's all about the dollars.

I didn't know it was a broad range including watches. Do most of you trade on ebay and it's effected you, it sounds like it.
On a lighter note, my friend bought a cheap knock off Tag Heuer watch when we were in south east asia and the single women on tour were pulling my aside saying oh his wearing a Tag watch. Very amusing.
Ebay will die out like the dinosaurs, dont worry. It's a really great place to buy rare vinyl but as time goes by there's other sites you can trade on.

Paul

It affects everyone who collects, not just people on eBay.  An example on MJ items... when several rare drawings/doodles were found after he died, those items fetched anywhere from 5000-15000.  In particular 3 unsigned drawings sold from a make-up artist of Michaels hit that 15k mark at an auction house.  Then comes the forgers who flood the entire market with fake MJ drawings afterward (including putting some of them into those same auction houses).  Now the items that are legit have lost their value because the forgeries sell for peanuts compared to legit ones and there are 100's of them.  And buyers who don't know any better will buy the more reasonable items.  That same make-up artist actually found one more doodle she had not too long ago.  She listed it on eBay, and she got under a grand for it, because she was competing with forgeries there.  She may have gotten a higher price at auction, but it would be no where near what it actually used to be worth.

I see w. Its a real shame that they canned the emr then. Forgers ruin it for everyone as well. The Mj prices sound like there ruined almost forever with the rare exception.
Amy winehouse will be the next big forged autograph, left for people to sort out. Thankyou forgers.

nobody cares about Amy Winehouse

people still wear watches and listen to vinyl? It's time to break out the old Rolex's & the old Albums!!!!

Oh, we just take out ipods to have signed by artist now and tell the time by the sun.
