Yes, I know of him. That's a interesting thought, but if so it would have to be a mail interview since I´m terrible at speaking english... ;-)

I also think this discussion about Hitler's autographs are interesting. To me it's much better to show a signature like this and talk about the horrible things that he did, because sometimes I get the feeling that students today almost doesn't believe that it's for real. It's more like a made up movie for them. Autographs, documents and for example nazi money with the swastika (much cheaper than a sig...) can "make it real" for them if they can "touch the history", if you get what I mean...

So to me there is a great educational value in this signature.

But I completely understand those who wouldn't touch this signature with a ten foot pole...

yes, tere are prevent- anoter -olicost reasons for andwritten itler stuff

to be out tere for purchase.I believe many anto olicost roups ave purchased suc tins

going back to steve's point; - there was a hugh outcry in the newspapers and news here about a couple of years ago over a dutch seller  who was selling what he believed to be an inscribed  'uniform' of a concentration camp victim.  Ebay had to make a public apology and make a hugh contribution to charity.  It turned out that the 'uniform' was a fake anyway  once the national newspaper sent it away to be tested.  The victim's family were appalled  and distressed but it also revealed the inadequate role of ebay customer service representatives.  Every time the newspaper rang them to report that this was being sold they  did nothing - it was only once it was published in the national newspaper that ebay sprung into action explaining that they have hundreds of agents looking for fakes and offensive stuff on ebay and removing them immediately.  It was front page news for quite a few days. I know its not directly autograph related so I hope people will forgive me for going off on a tangent

This is an item, of unquestionable rarity/value, that I would not write a description or tag for. I have in the past, and have been asked, and usually comply. When I don't or won't there is usually a reason. This is a whole new one.

Eric

What other items, do you think would be in peoples collection if they collect Adolf hitler documents?

Stalin, I'm sure.

Ebay ended the listing.
