In a way I'm not expecting a reply to this post, but being ever hopeful I ask the question:

In 2015 a copy of George Harrison's I Me Mine went up for sale with RR:

It also was up for auction with Bloomsbury in the UK. This particular copy was unnumbered, making it pretty rare, my question is - does anyone happen to know the vendor of this piece? if anyone has any info on this please do message me.

Many thanks.

I don't have any info. I just wonder if it is an artists proof situation. Where they made more copies then the 2000, and these were an initial unnumbered batch. Pretty cool.

These Genesis books come up for sale from time to time. it says Harrison and the owner of Genesis books also have an un numbered copy.

Thanks guys. Yes, I think you're right with the promo concept. Genesis have said they have previously sent out unnumbered versions of various titles for review / promo purposes, but these aren't usually signed. And with regards to this edition they don't seem to have any paperwork on how many there might be. However both Tracks and Epperson haven't seen a signed unnumbered version before, so I can't imagine there are many around.

They could be extras that were signed in case there was a problem with any of the initial 2,000 copies. Someone posted the signed page from a "Songs By George Harrison" Genesis book that was numbered 2,506 from an edition of 2,500.

That makes some sense Ballroom. It would be interesting to know if the auction description is accurate around there being 3 of these.
You could ask genesis publications, but id say ballroom's correct.
I tried Genesis, but sadly their records from back then are patchy at best, and with the original owner no longer with us, they weren't able to provide much solid info. But it was good to chat to the guys and I thank them for their time.
I think it is legit, I don't think anyone questions that, who was the original owner? No dedication makes me believe this wasn't for a big wig.
I also found that a little strange Adam. You would expect some sort of dedication. But this in itself does not make the auction description incorrect, but it does raise the very valid question.
I've called Genesis in the past and talked to them about the Roman numeraled Page deluxe book and they said that it was a mistake.they ran off 20 or so extra copies of the deluxe after the edition sold out.So they basically called the run off copies artists proofs and used Roman numerals for them.
I wonder if this book was also a mistake run off like the Page book.Even so,I would think it would make it a little more desire able .I own a numbered one.

There all the same to me.

Thanks Paul H. It certainly appears they've done this sort of thing a few times. A shame they don't have any records in this instance to confirm.
