Someone on my FB group (that deals with Beatles autographs and memorabilia) published this Lennon autograph for only $1000. This is what he wrote:

John Lennon Autograph from July 27, 1976. The day John received his green card. This was acquired at the immigration office in NYC. The scan has been slightly enhanced. The ink is faded. Hate to sell. Need it gone. Medical crisis has come up and bills are coming.

What do you think?

I think I’ve seen this Lennon autograph before.  Does it come with an LOA from PSA or JSA?  Normally, $1000 for a genuine Lennon would be extremely cheap.  Even with the fading $1000 is cheap, although I wouldn’t put the value over $1500 due to the fading...if in fact it is real.

It could still be real even if the story sounds a little sketchy.  But again, this autograph looks familiar.  I think I saw it on eBay a few years back.

I don’t think I would want it without authentication unless it gets a thumbs up from our many capable Lennon autograph studies here on AML.

I've seen it before. As you can see, it was supposed to be from 1975. Now it's from 1976? I believe the seller wanted $2,500 for it at that time?

That’s right, and I do believe the price was $2500.

This does not look like a natural, free-flowing John Lennon autograph to me. If it were me, I wouldn’t consider it.

I think it looks pretty good, but then again, what do I know?
