Before I continue, below are links showing hundreds of examples of forged Mickey Mantle baseballs, photos, etc. found on Ebay (the most dangerous place to buy autographs if you're a casual collector or impulse buyer).

Check out this forged Mickey Mantle baseball sold by Ebay seller 19bronco19 for $330.00.

What a waste of $330.00!!!

Ebay seller 19bronco19 writes "Will Pass PSA, JSA, Beckett or your money back!"

Seriously!!!

In the auction description, Ebay seller 19bronco19 shows a photo of a BAS Authenticated Mickey Mantle baseball to convince potential buyers that the forged Mantle baseball will pass BAS, JSA or PSA.

That's why selling forgeries on Ebay is actually easier than selling authentic autographs; with Ebay so heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors and impulse buyers, it's no surprise that Ebay makes a mint from the sales of forgeries.

Here is that forged Mickey Mantle baseball sold by Ebay seller 19bronco19 for $330.00.

For just $30.00 or so more, the buyer could have purchased an authentic Mickey Mantle autographed baseball.

Here is that obvious forgery.

Worthless COA from The Inside Pitch (who?)

Here is that photo with the BAS authenticated Mantle.

I hope the buyer does submit it to BAS, PSA or JSA.

The seller likes to show off his BAS authenticated balls in the background to establish some  kind of credibility. I ask, “Why didn’t you submit the one for sale to BAS?”

Or did he and it failed?

Exactly, Steve!!!

but it has that nice Inside Pitch COA!

The sad thing is I picked up this 100% authentic and gorgeous Mantle signed baseball on ebay recently for $240. Almost $100 less than what a fake sold for.

Steve, that's a beauty.

You paid $240.00 for an authentic Mantle and yet some delusional buyer on Ebay just wasted $330.00 on an obvious forgery.

That's Ebay!!!

that's a beauty Steve

Inside pitch, Hit em'. Right in the ass.

Very Delusional the dopey buyer and scam artist seller 19bronco19

I bought the below on Ebay two years ago for under $200.00.

I have multiple Mantles -- never paid more than $250. Multiple DiMaggios never more than $200. About five Jeters all under $150. Ted Williams under $150. All clean balls with strong signatures. And all 100% real.

Yet people pay through the nose for fakes with cheesy, worthless COAs all day long.

For sure, Steve.

The sellers of forgeries known exactly how to word their auctions to their targeted audience (impulse buyers and delusional autograph collectors).

That's why Ebay is the most dangerous place to buy autographs for those who do not know autographs.

but also a place where you can find a gem, if you are patient and know what to look for.   I got a vintage, 1965 era Sandy Koufax signature on a Giles ball for $63 bucks.  Crazy.

Absolutely true, Terrier.

The deals are there if you have the knowledge.
