On Saturday, I received my 1974 Topps baseball card and a nice little note on my envelope in the mail signed by former Yankees, Indians, and Rangers pitcher, Fritz Peterson. Fritz was a New York Yankees pitching legend, and was an All-Star in 1970. He had the lowest ERA ever at the old Yankee Stadium, and from 1968 through 1972, led the American League every year in fewest walks per 9 innings. And, he was quite a character off the field, too! Was good to see and hear from him that he is doing well.

Got an email last week from nelson Mandella Foundation stating that he is enjoying retirement with his family and does not sign anymore.Bummer!

I just received a nice surprise in the mail last week.

The president of the charity group I work with (Hero Initiative) had Stan Lee mail me personal letter last week thanking me for my help with raising money for the charity. Stan works with us very closely and he donates signatures and his time at conventions.

When I got to meet Stan at his offices at POW Entertainment he asked me what I was doing in California and I told him the main reason was to meet him and it was true. He looked at me and then Jim and said "You don't have very high standards do you?" and I just about fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.

So this was a very nice and unexpected surprise.

Another dry day, nothing but junk in the old mail box. I think the the maillady holding out on me. I'll get even with her, no more christmas cookies, mwuahahahaha! <----evil laugh ! I am seriously bumming, someone wanna share the good fortune? oh well more tomorrow I hope.

I had about 3 weeks when I had nothing come in and then the other day I had 4 envelopes in one day and one yesterday.

"Mail them and they will come"! lol

today I guess was a good news bad news day. The good news I finally got an envelope back , the bad news it was from the nelson mandela foundation saying thaty he nolonger signs autographs because he is in retirement and enjoying a quiet life with his family so , the fanmail. biz addy is a bust unless he comes out of retirement.
