Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and others — Newport Folk Festival 1963, Saturday morning Ballads workshop, Porch No. 1, Newport Casino, Newport, RI, previously undocumented original ticket, signed by Joan Baez to the rear:

A Baez signature on a 1963 Dylan ticket is nothing to be sniffed at, but that is not where the real value lies here.  The ticket itself is extremely rare.  So much so that I could not find another clear example online to compare it to.  So, this is new information to the Dylan collecting community.  One of the earliest Dylan tickets extant today; a museum-quality find.

What I did manage to find were a number of photographs, taken during that 27 July morning workshop, which show several audience members either wearing or holding examples of this same ticket:

Nice bit of history right there, pretty cool relic I enjoyed reading the back story :)

Thanks for sharing!

This ticket stub is very rare. The first I ever seen!!!!

Superb Steve! Such a rare ticket! Congratulations!!! :-)

Thank you Al, J.Seah, and Eric for your kind comments.

The ticket makes a good companion piece for my copy of the Newport 1963 programme, and is actually worth a good deal more than even that artefact, IMO.

For some reason (possibly as simple as the weather), the Ballads workshop was moved from the Casino Theatre to Porch No. 1.  The programme shows the original location:

Two new Adam West autographs. A signed First Day Issue 75th Anniversary 2014 Batman Stamp and a signed boarding pass used by Adam West.

Lovely

Was basically out of the hobby for over a year.  Other priorities.  But in the past few months have been on an acquisition tear.  Here are a few of the most recent.

Incredible pieces!

Thank you!  Much appreciated.
