It's odd. The signature on the left is more complete with less abbreviation, but the drawing on the right is much more carefully rendered.The left appears rapid, and the right slow. The left has no "perfect" circles (doodle features, date) while the right has at least 5. Strange.

Yes Eric, the more I look at the index card example, the less I like it. I'm not sure what planet the book seller is on price-wise.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to prove this was a forgery but I don't think I would buy just because of it being a signed index card. Unless he knew this "Karla" well, I can't imagine that Paul would have sat down at a desk to sign an index card so carefully. It would be very fiddly to sign "on the hoof". If it was signed at an official signing I also doubt that he would have wanted to sign anything other than a purchased item.

I get where you're coming from, Eva. But I can see someone asking Paul to sign the card during a booksigning and him doing so. It would have most likely been by someone who bought the book, whether they asked for a "bonus" autograph for their "mom" or asked to have the card signed instead.
You know The Beatles well. Do you see signing characteristics that give you pause?

I see where you're coming from too Steve.
I don't see a great deal to make me pause. Perhaps the OP does look more deliberate than the two examples Ballroom posted (e.g. the "CC" and the ears of the face) but we're talking very fine margins indeed. I guess the face is also rather large in the OP but, again, I'm clutching at straws!

always dubious of this signature in thick marker, looks very easy to copy, its defo a copy of another macca autograph, the L of paul makes me suspicious
