That’s not a bold statement. Premiere Collectibles has a book signed by Edward Duke of Windsor, who died in 1972. This is obviously a book they had to buy from another source and than did a large mark up on it.  If you search their website by price descending, you will see items like a signed Usher photo. Usher has not done a photo signing with premiere.

Premier has bought from me on Ebay. It is a fact.

Any book they sell without a bookplate, comes from Ebay, BAM and B&N.  They just slap inside that COA which means nothing and once again as I said before, they jack up the price.  That book signed by Jimmy Carter was probably flipped from Ebay for a much lower price and they are asking for as described a pricey amount of $650.  Sound like a black market.  I also buy new books from them if I can't buy it anywhere else.  Just Buyer Beware is all I am saying regarding their source of books.  You could have bought Kai Jones' book at a better price than at Premiere.  :)

I don't think this is true.

When a publisher issues an "open" signed edition (not to be confused with numbered signed editions) such as those with tipped-in signature pages, they usually make them available to a wide range of retailers, including Premier.

Premier Collectables on occassion will also arrange with authors to sign bookplates for them.  I have seen this with books that had no publisher-issued signed editions, as well as with books where the original tipped-in version sold out.

It's easy to tell which books Premier buys in the open market for resale.  They even have them in a special section on their website.  In any case, they are older books and priced far above issue price.

Premier is by no means my first choice, but their packaging is far superior to BAM and Amazon, and even B&N.

They’re well known for dodgy behavior.

I do buy new books from them sometimes but as a last resort and knowing to expect bookplate only and that the coa is worthless since it doesn’t specify the book.

A bit pricey - but three different versions of "Kate Moss by Kate Moss" available:

£250 for a bookplate? That is just plain greed.
