If it helps I actually made a new account with a new username and linked that to the Proton Mail. I did not convert my old account to the new email address. I now just have 2 accounts. Not ideal but at least the new one gets all the emails now.

yeah just reiterating here that I haven’t received notifications since February (using gmail).

If you get it working I hope you can help the others troubleshoot. I did it too long ago to remember the exact steps I took. But if you get it set up properly-it's flawless.

I just changed my e-mail address here to proton and it's now working. One thing to note is that protonmail doesn't work with your apple ios mail account. So you'll have to download protonmail's app to retrieve e-mails. Not ideal for me but it's better than getting no notifications!

I suspect it may be this change that affects anyone with a Gmail or yahoo email address.....

Starting February 2024, Gmail and Yahoo will require bulk senders (those sending over 5,000 emails a day) to have a DMARC policy in their DNS. Emails must pass DMARC alignment, meaning they must align with either the DKIM or SPF standards. This change is aimed at improving email security and reducing spam.

Yep, I sent this to Steve back in February hoping it would get fixed, but nothing yet. This is pretty common practice nowadays. But at least it is working with the other mail providers for now. Wouldn't be surprised to see it become more of an issue as time goes on.

Good catch Mark. I had no idea this happened. Ideally we can eventually switch back to gmail but in the meantime I’ll be thankful for receiving protonmail messages lol 🙏🙏
