Apologies for asking this very stupid question on this thread, but I wasn't really sure where else to post it...

I'm going to an artist signing and own a picture disc LP of hers in a clear plastic sleeve. If I got the artist to sign/write on the picture disc itself with a black marker pen, would this harm the vinyl?

I suspect I know the answer, but perhaps I'm wrong! Otherwise perhaps the artist could sign in the middle of the disc, or somehow on the clear plastic sleeve?

You might consider getting something else signed unless you have your heart set on that particular item. When the record itself gets signed, it tends not to turn out the best. I've seen some artists sign on the plastic to, which is obviously not great. Depending on the surface texture you might almost consider using a paint pen, even if it's a light/white background (I don't suppose it's Griff at HMV?).

Hi Rich, thanks for your reply. Just thought maybe there was a way to do it rather than having to buy a second copy (it's Beabadoobee at Rough Trade btw).
