INTENT OF THIS GROUP

My intention here is to have people upload authentic autographs of actors and actresses that have appeared on the "Andy Griffith Show." This is a daunting task since this show had many more episodes per season than modern television. The first season of "TAGS" had a whopping 32 episodes. Over 600 actors and actresses appeared in various roles on the show during its run. Of course, many that appeared were in uncredited roles. Many others played various characters and "extra" parts. Internet Movie Data Base is the most useful tool, and anyone interested in more information on the actors/actresses should check there. Colin Male is listed as being in one episode, but he was also the voice-over announcer in 95 episodes. For my purposes in my collecting, I count him only for this actual onscreen appearance. So, I hope this group will spawn some renewed interest in this wonderful show and the many great stars that appeared on the show. As well as adding some interesting trivia about the show and its stars. If people have met stars from the show would also love to hear those accounts. Hopefully, this will be as friendly and warm as Mayberry itself.

This is a very informative group. I have learned quite a bit. One on my reasons for joining was to inform collectors and sellers of all of the bogus Andy Griffith signatures I see on eBay and other sites. I hope we have helped out others. Also I am learning about the back stories of actors on the show on and off screen. Hope we can add new members and keep what we have. I learned something today, for some reason I never heard about Howard Morris being one of the main stars on the show "Your Show Of Shows" that debuted in 1950. One if my favorite memories I have is being first in his line to meet Howard to talk to him and get his autograph in New Castle Indiana during "Mayberry Days". He was energetic, funny just full of energy. So glad I have that memory. So Scott thank you for allowing me to be part of our little corner of Mayberry. May the fish always be biting. But don't take any of them to an aquarium. Lol

Comment by Scott Paul on February 23, 2018 at 6:18pm: FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS GROUP! Time certainly has a way of flying by and The Andy Griffith Show Collectors Group is now five years old. A lot has changed we have lost more and more of the wonderful actors and actresses from the show. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this group. Hopefully a few people have found it of some benefit.
