If you put his name in the search engine of the upper right corner of the screen, you'll find plenty of info oabout him on this site.  One of the more notorious names in the hobby.

Why do you need to know more, Joseph?

Yes, Joseph -- your post was very vague.  Please explain what exactly do you want to know and why?

everyone says this guy authentication is bogus. i want to know why this guy is not in jaIL

When it comes to this hobby, there are probably thousands of people who should be in jail.  Very easy to get away with murder in the autograph world.

It's the 8th Wonder of the World.

+1, Steve!!!

is GFA any better?

GFA (Stephen Rocchi) is on par with Chris Morales, Drew Max, Ted Taylor, etc.

exactly, except Fee-Bay accepts GFA certs

This hobby is chock full of dealers, authenticators and professionals that each hate one another. You will have no problem finding online articles about this one suing that one, and this one bashing that one... all day long.

My best advice is for you to look at the person's actual authentication work or autograph stock, then compare and contrast items they offer or pieces they have certified with known good samples.

You can't just blindly believe everything you read about a certain person, without doing some of your own research.

In this particular situation, I have been hard pressed to find anything in the long history of this man's work where I can agree with his findings.

As for why he isn't in jail......welcome to autograph collecting, imagine how difficult and expensive it would be to prove someone knowingly misrepresented a certificate or outright forged something. Stupidity isn't illegal.

The few times celebrities have been involved in cases and gone to court to claim items that were certified or sold ...were not their signatures, the celebs lost(not being able to prove anything in court).....or if they won, the opposing company goes out of business, to avoid paying fines, only to reopen under a new name.

This is a great hobby, but at the same time, it is also the hobby where more and more dirtbags jump in to scribble on items and make a fortune off unsuspecting newbies. Spend the time to learn everything you can about the signature you want and the dealer or authenticator that you want to use.

Just some advice from your Uncle Pete.

I'm not an authenticator or a dealer, yet I have still found myself being attacked by people trying to protect their illegal income stream from their poor work & forgeries.....it's all part of trying to be honest in a hobby full of thieves.

And you will never get a better answer than that. Amen.
