Check out yet another Mickey Mantle forgery found on Ebay.

The below ugly Mickey Mantle forgery on a hat/cap is listed by Ebay seller Rjv-sports.

Ebay seller Rjv-sports has it listed with a Buy It Now for only $300.00.

Who in their right mind lists an authentic Mickey Mantle autograph on a baseball hat/cap for only $300.00.

Ebay seller Rjv-sports writes "I can not give refunds for I am consigning it for another individual."

This is why sellers of forgeries list their crap on Ebay; they know the suckers and wannabe autograph collectors will purchase their forgeries.

And all of this as Ebay continues, as they have for the past twenty years, to PROFIT big-time from the sales of forgeries.

This is simply a poorly-executed and ugly Mickey Mantle forgery listed by Ebay seller Rjv-sports.

Funny thing is, most ebay buyers don't know that they can return anything. Even if a seller has a no refund policy, it does't matter. Starting in November 2014, ebay/paypal buyers will no longer have have a 60 day return policy....but rather 180 days (6 months!) If you sell something on ebay and the buyer decides 6 months later, that they don't want it anymore, they will be able to file a dispute with ebay/paypal and paypal will freeze the amount in your account before favoring in the side of the buyer and issuing them a refund, per the new rules.

Its a terrible rule for sellers of quality authentic pieces.

It applies to an item sold, but you are correct. Sellers on ebay have no rights. I read a story recently of a guy who sold his autographed Steiner Yankees jersey. He need the money and someone offered around $1,200, which he accepted. Well, 11 months later he received a message from paypal that his account had $1,200 froze due to a dispute that had been opened, due to an unauthorized use of a credit card. Because the buyer used his CC linked to his paypal account, he had 12 months to do so. Even though the seller used a tracking number and was shown as being delivered 11 month earlier to the buyer's verified address, paypal claimed for any item sold over $250, a signature confirmation is required....and the tracking number is disregarded!! Paypal issued a full refund to the buyer's credit card, 11 months after the jersey had been delivered! The seller was out over $1,200 and an extra $45 paypal charged him to "fight the claim" on his behalf. Good, honest sellers are getting screwed daily on ebay, while forgers are free to run scams.

Exactly. I have been scammed on eBay before as a seller and I feel its only a matter of time before certain sellers start taking advantage of their nearly limitless rights.

Mike, many honest sellers are fed up of the increased rates, volume of forgers and horrible customer service ebay has. Combined with having no rights as a seller, they are leaving ebay. Problem is there is really no other place to go. Ebay has no competition and they know that and choose to stick it up your butt any chance they get. All ebay cares about is making money for ebay. They do not care if sellers get riped off by buyers or if buyers get ripped off by sellers, as long as they get their nice, easy slice of the pie...ebay is happy.

Little sellers like me have a particularly difficult time. eBay is great in that it gives us exposure... and that is about it. I do not have enough inventory to sustain high traffic on my website and thus most, basically all, of my sales are off eBay. I'm fine with the rates they charge, I always keep that mind when making a deal so I'm not surprised when I lose 10% of the sale price from my profits. I do not like the fact that buyers are given all the power. When I started out on eBay I mainly sold items of little value ($5 cuts, low end autographs) and shipped them fine without tracking/signature. The first "big" item (Mariano Rivera signed baseball) I sold through eBay I only shipped international air (per the buyer's request) which gave me no tracking. Funny enough, it was "lost" along with another item I sent using a non-tracking shipping service to Australia. Since then, I've only used expedited shipping which costs me at least $17 (after my Canada Post discounts) to ship any type of item (other than small cuts) to the U.S. Buyers are now complaining that my shipping is too high, even though I only charge $15 and actually take a hit on it, but I'm just trying to protect myself.

Very simple, don't ship overseas. I bought one item like that and after 3 weeks, told the seller I never got it. I just figured he didn't want to sell it cause he was so nice about it and issued a refund right away. Fast forward 6 months later and I get an airmail package and it turned out out he did ship it but was lost for months during delivery. I messaged the seller letting him know and asking for his paypal address so I can send him funds directly into his account. He never responded to my emails.

Ebay seller Rjv-sports is also listing the below Mickey Mantle forgery on a baseball.
