The founder of the Marvel Universe, Stan Lee, passed away Monday at age 95.

Along with Jack Kirby, Stan Lee created some of most iconic and enduring figures of the last 60 years: Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Thor, Captain America, the X-Men and many more.

Lee himself was a celebrity, often making cameo appearances in Marvel films, and he was a regular on the convention circuit — glad handing, signing autographs and taking photos with fans until the last months of his life.

While Stan Lee signed a multitude of autographs at appearances and through private signings, his enduring popularity makes him a target of forgers. Sadly, with Stan Lee's death, forgery merchants will be hawking their fake autographs in great numbers.

Post Stan Lee autographs you own or are considering buying in this discussion for authenticity opinions from the Autograph Live community.

Eric is so right!!!

Ebay is the most dangerous place to buy autographs for the novice.

Ebay doesn't not filter out the forgeries; if anything, they are an enabler of forgeries.

Eric, any advice or lesson will be very apreciated.

We have lose this battle but we wil win the war hajajajahaha ;)

Hi Scarlett6662000,

That's a big question - I will try a tiny but dense answer: Post the next one you consider here for opinions align with source and price - before you purchase. You already know to only use reg PayPal. If several members here or someone with the skills of Steve give it the nod you should be OK - just don't overspend.

Best always,

Erixc

 Yes Sir!

You can count on it :) Every step will be post.

I have these 2 Stan Lee signed comics that I want to make 100% sure are real before I sell them.

They look right to me, and according to the  labels on their sheet protectors they were signed at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA on Nov. 21, 2000, but I don't know him well.

I'd appreciate your input!

Thanks

I believe they are good.

Thanks, Steve.

Yes they are 100% legit. All of the signatures I have are 100% in person so if anyone wants to compare just look at my signed posters. The charity I have worked with for 18 years helps comic book creators in their time of need and Stan was always a huge supporter. I had even been to his office Los Angeles to meet him.

Nice ones.

Thoughts?

The only one without a COA is the Star Wars/marvel print.

Spiderman has excelsior sticker on back, no COA.

Trio (cap, iron man, Spidey) has COA, no sticker. So I’m also curious about the Robert Downey auto and Chris Evans auto.

Thanks everybody!

From this thread (never looked at Stan much), I think the last may well be good. I don't like the second and the first I don't know what all is going on there.

That's the kind of ting I was thinking about the Spiderman but Steve will know. It could just be a mess.
