Another icon came in the mail today by way of Franklin "Pepper" Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers is a college football legend, and should be in the College Football Hall of Fame. He was a kicker and quarterback at Georgia Tech, with many accolaids: kicked the game winning 22-yard field goal in the 1952 Orange Bowl to beat 9th ranked Baylor; passed for 55 yards and a touchdown to go along with kicking 2 extra points and a field goal in helping lead Georgia Tech to a 24-7 win over 6th ranked Ole Miss in the 1953 Sugar Bowl and a claim to the 1952 National Championship; passed for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns to go along with an 18-yard field goal to win the Sugar Bowl MVP award in Tech's 42-19 rout of 11th ranked West Virginia. Mr. Rodgers went on to have a very successful coaching career, too, coaching Kansas to the Big Eight Conference championship in 1968, and Georgia Tech to a 7-4 record and a Peach Bowl appearance in 1977.

My mail box had goodies in it 2 days in a row! Today I received an autograph from Richard F. Gordon, Jr. Capt. Gordon was the pilot for both the Gemini 11 and Apollo 12 missions NASA conducted in the 1960s. He is one of only 24 people to ever fly to the moon, and is a member of the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. So honored to have this true American hero and pioneer as part of my collection.

Today's mail brought me my favorite baseball player today, current Astro and former Brave Evan Gattis. I sure hated seeing him go to Houston and leave my Braves, but the same thing happened when I was a kid with David Justice. So happy to have Evan on this card.

2 TTMs to start a new week.
First, Lita Ford signed 2 of 2 for me.
Next, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker did not return my card signed, but did send a very nice signed 5x7.
They even put it in this fancy holder for me.

Russ, Those are some awesome autographed cards of The Chief. Getting a request sent out to him this week myself. Fingers crossed. This weekend, I got a return from Olympic gold medalist, Dan Gable. Dan is probably the greatest wrestler of all-time. He began wrestling as a way to help his mother and father cope with the death of his sister, who was tragicly murdered when he was 15. What started out as a form of giving his family something to cheer about soon turned into an obsession to be the best in the world, and at the 1972 Summer Olympics, Dan  won the gold medal in the 68 kg Freestyle Division....without surrendering a single point for all 7 matches. Nobody had ever done that before, and nobdy has ever done that since. One of the most remarkable athletes of all-time.

Poor rubber stamp response from, Texas Governor Greg Abbott today. Even sent along a printed piece of paper.
The good news is that he didn't use my sase, so I technically didn't waste a stamp.
I'm going to try and remove the stamp and send it out to either a past governor or the next guy.
