I'd like to get some opinions on the attached baseballs of Ford, Carter, Bush and Reagan.  To be honest, I feel comfortable with the Ford, Carter and Bush.  I'm not sure about the Reagan.  Some things look correct, but other aspects of the signature…Continue

@Herman:

Thank you! You're the second expert who confirmed the Ford. The other person I asked was on the road and didn't have his exemplars to check the first Carter.

Thank you very much for looking.  It's good to know.  I will be framing the Ford and the inscribed Carter.  Not sure what to do with the extra one, may perhaps trade it.

Looks authentic to me.

This second seems to be in a different type of pen, like an ink gel type where the first one was done in fine tip sharpie.  They seem to be by the same hand with very minor differences in the sigs.  Let me know what you think.

Please post the other Carter. Thanks, Mark.

Yes the carter is definitely ink and not part of the photo. I actually have another Carter that I received via mail from around the same time. It was signed in the same hand but in a slightly different location but with no inscription. I can post a photo of it also if you like. Thank you for looking Herman.

Neither are Autopen. In my opinion, both the Ford and Carter are authentic, although the Carter bothers me a little. Are you sure the Carter is in ink and not a facsimile printed as partof the photo?
Comment by Mark Lovell on April 6, 2011 at 10:24pm
Thank you Steve.  I obtained both of them through the mail around 12 years ago.  The Ford I received via a donation to the Betty Ford clinic.  The Carter I received via the Carter center.  I have heard he uses an autopen, but with the inscription and the fact that there are smooth flowing lines with varying amounts of pressure throughout the sig, makes me believe its real.  I appreciate any opinion.

I'd swear the bearded guy is Fidel Castro, but I didn't think he wore glasses then!

Mark,

I asked one of our experts to take a look. We should know by tomorrow sometime.
