outstanding julia, in sadder  news.... Randy "Macho Man " Savage Died yesterday after suffering a heart attack while driving with his second wife. Savages Jeep crossed the center line and struck a tree. Savages second wife, lynn Payne was a passenger in the jeep at the time of the accident.  lynn suffered minor cuts and bruising.  Wrestler Lanny Poffo confirmed the death of his brother, born Randall Mario Poffo, to the website.

The couple, married last May, recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Savage died of his injuries at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla. Both were reportedly wearing seatbelts. Randy was 58 years old. rest in peace macho man you will be missed.

I dropped off at the post office today a "Lost in Space" poster to June Lockhart. I've had this since the '90s and have been able to get the other cast members to sign it in person over the past 4 years.

Outstanding david, the display is sharp. i have all my autogroahs in binders in a air tight rubberamid box for now. i am working on my disability for a severe back injury that has left me unable to work, and all th epills they give me for pain and breathng and bloodpressure have pack the weight on with now other way of dropping it except surgery. i am scheduled for the 27th of june to undergo that . i will sore for quite awhile and i will never eat a big meal ever again. my stomache will be 1/20the  size it is now and my meals will consist of 1-1.5 oz a meal and vitamans out the butt. but if all goes well i will add about ten more year son to my life line to collect and enjoy my family. i would love to make it to yhe hof game one year, was there once when i was a kid. i won the tickets from my paper route i had. that was a great time. but no one was there and i was not into collecting then anyways. i will look into the display cost at our craft store in the area . when i win my disabilty claim and they pay me my back pay for three years or more i am building the new house that will include a sort of autograph gallery where they can be enjoyed by everyone when they come to visit. then i will be happy. thanks again dave.

It's interesting how I got this newspaper.  I've been collecting HOF game tickets and programs since the late 70's.  The game program I knew existed but the only one that I had ever seen was in the HOF library.  Then eBay came around and I now have three of them.  Most people don't know that it exists because this first game  was played a year before the HOF opened.

As far as the ticket goes, it along with the 1970 ticket are the two toughest to find.  Why the 1970?  I have no idea and know one can tell me why it is so scarce.  Back in the beginning they couldn't give these tickets away.  I beleive you live in the Cleveland area so you know the stadium only seats about 22K.  I found a program with a 1962 game stub about 10 years ago in eBay and there were two of us bidding on it, I one them both for about $185.  Then about 3 or 4 years ago, someone from California had the 1962 and 1970 tickets on eBay for a buy now price of $18.  I was able to snap up (3) of the 1962's and two of the 70's brand new never used.  I could've had more but a guy who lives in CA and one in NY that I know collect I let them know about and they were able to get one for themselves.  I had PSA/DNA grade one ofthe 62's and it is a mint 9 and I graded a 70 and it only came out a Ex-MT 6.  I traded a 62, 70, and a few other tickets to a guy for a signed Sammy Baugh, Jerry Rice jerseys, a signed Ralph Wilson Jr 8"x10" and some cash.

About two years ago I went on a local radio station where you can buy and sell items and I was looking for HOF game tickets and programs.  Someone called me and said they had a box of old programs so I checked it out and offered them $20 for the box.  Most of the programs were in ok shape but most of the tickets were either creased or had been torn.  I didn't look at the whole box until I got home, that is when I found the newspaper in the bottom of the box as you can see it has a huge crease down the middle but it is an awesome piece.  All three are dated August 11, 1962 the day of the first game.

Over all of the years I try to get the programs signed by whoever was inducted that year.  Currently I have 160 autographs and about 30 more doubles.  The best of all of them is the 1969 cover I bought on eBay for $20, it was advertised as signed by Joe Perry, and Ernie Stautner.  It was also signed by Leo Nomellini, and in the scan you could faintly see it had a couple of other signatures.  I have received plenty of all three of these guys autographs in person so I knew they were legit, so for $20 I couldn't go wrong.  When I got it I almost had a heart attack.  The signatures I couldn't make out were of the other two members of the class of 69; Turk Edwards, and Earle Greasy Neale...I figured now way they were real.  I sent it to JSA, the were real.  The best $20 investment I ever made. lol

Here is one more picture that you might be able to get a better look.  Youcould mount that newspaper and you wouldn't have to have anything in that corner.  I can see that one of the holders on mine on the left side of the paper has slipped, I will need to get that fixed.  I had this done for a total price of about $150 but yours would probably be half that size.

This last picture is the whole display.  Nothing is glued in and everything can be removed with no damage to the items.

All three items are mounted with these clear plastic corners.  Also on the bottom of the newspaper and on the sides there is a gray piece with a clear holder that the newspaper is supported on the sides.

thanks david, i appreciate the help. the only concerne i have with mounting and matting is that the signature is so dang close to the edge, if not right at it, that i might block out the autograph in the process. august 11, 1962 huh? three years to the day before i was born, thats cool would love to see it.

Darrel nice piece...I have a suggestion for you as far as mounting it.  Let me take a picture of the opening day newspaper I have from the Pro Football HOF from Aug 11, 1962.  I have it in a matted frame with the 1st game ticket and 1st program.  They are all mounted with clips as no to damage any of the items.  The piece came out very well.  I will get an image and post it here hopefully tonight.
